Background And Objectives: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic musculoskeletal pain syndrome characterized by widespread pain and a variety of other symptoms, including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and sleep disturbances. Recent research has highlighted the potential role of pro-inflammatory cytokines and neurotransmitters in the pathophysiology of FM. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and serotonin with the clinical parameters observed in patients with fibromyalgia.

Objective: Describe the feasibility, barriers during the recruitment and intervention period, recruitment rate (success and efficiency), and the level of participation and adherence in the randomized clinical trial to verify the effects of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for the symptoms of intermittent claudication (IC) and its repercussions on functional capacity, cardiorespiratory fitness and cardiovascular autonomic function in individuals with sta II Fontaine classification, residing in Brazil.
Design: Prospective, double-blind, randomized clinical trial.
Setting: Level secondary.
The present study verified, through a systematic review with meta-analysis, the effects of a rehabilitation, physical training program for the treatment of pain and muscle strength in knee osteoarthritis (OA). We analyzed studies published between 2008 and 2018 referenced at the Medline (National Library of Medicine) database, selecting 7 randomized controlled clinical trials about exercise programs to improve pain and muscle strength in patients with knee OA with Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PeDro) score higher than 8. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) systematization was used to prepare this review, and a meta-analysis was carried out to obtain mathematical evidence the outcomes of physical exercise on pain.

Methods: This was a descriptive longitudinal study involving 22 patients, 13 of whom were female. The mean age was 22.
Objective: to describe the clinical and epidemiological profile of acute appendicitis (AA) of the patients treated at a referral center in the Juiz de Fora macro-region, Minas Gerais State, Brazil.
Methods: we conducted a retrospective, observational study in the Dr. Mozart Geraldo TeixeiraEmergency Hospital.
Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between maternal waist circumference measured before the 12th week of gestation and serum leptin levels during pregnancy, as well as to compare the leptin levels of women with and without abdominal obesity diagnosed in early pregnancy.
Methods: Prospective study including 40 pregnant women receiving low-risk prenatal care, older than 20 years, nonsmokers, with singleton pregnancies and without chronic disease. Waist circumference was measured before the 12th week and serum leptin levels were measured between the 9th and 12th, 25th and 28th and 34th and 37th weeks of gestation.
Background: Institutional documents recommend that hemodynamic variables--heart rate (HR) and systolic (SAP) and diastolic arterial pressure (DAP)--be routinely controlled at the aerobic part of supervised exercise sessions for coronary disease patients.
Objective: a) to determine the pattern and reproducibility of the blood pressure (BP) throughout 15 minutes of physical exercise at constant and moderate intensity; and b) to compare the BP measurement obtained with digital and conventional device during the exercise.
Methods: Thirty adult individuals of both sexes (65+/-11 yrs) were assessed for 15 minutes during lower-limb cycle ergometry and the BP was measured every 2 minutes, between the 3rd and the 13th minutes, using a Tango digital sphygmomanometer (Suntech, USA) and in the 14th minute, using a mercury column sphygmomanometer.
