Background: Charcot-Marie-Tooth is the most common inherited neuromuscular disorder. Rarely, it can be associated with heart failure and various arrhythmic disturbances. This case illustrates the challenges of making decisions to prevent sudden cardiac death in a patient with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

Adverse Drug Events in Ambulatory Care: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Adverse drug events (ADEs) are understudied in the ambulatory care setting. We aim to estimate the prevalence and characteristics of ADEs in outpatient care using electronic health records (EHRs).

Methods: This cross-sectional study included EHR data for patients who had an outpatient encounter at an academic medical center from 1 October 2018 through 31 December 2019.

Using a few examples (few-shot) or no examples (zero-shot) for prompt-tuning has enabled LLMs to achieve state-of-the-art performance in a broad range of NLP applications.

Importance And Objectives: COVID-19-related acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is associated with high mortality and often necessitates invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). Previous studies on non-COVID-19 ARDS have shown driving pressure to be robustly associated with ICU mortality; however, those studies relied on "static" driving pressure measured periodically and manually. As "continuous" automatically monitored driving pressure is becoming increasingly available and reliable with more advanced mechanical ventilators, we aimed to examine the effect of this "dynamic" driving pressure in COVID-19 ARDS throughout the entire ventilation period.

SN's main effects may be cardioprotective and are believed to be mediated through its inhibition of calmodulin-dependent kinase II (CaMKII), which influences intracellular calcium handling. SN inhibition of CaMKII suppresses calcium leakage from the sarcoplasmic reticulum through the ryanodine receptor.

Objectives: To develop an unbiased objective for learning automatic coding algorithms from clinical records annotated with only partial relevant International Classification of Diseases codes, as annotation noise in undercoded clinical records used as training data can mislead the learning process of deep neural networks.
