The aim was to assess the efficacy of ivermectin moxidectin for treating infection. Ovid MEDLINE, Embase and Web of Science databases were searched for studies comparing ivermectin and moxidectin from inception to February 2024. The outcomes: elimination of infection or parasitological cure, mortality and serious adverse events.

Interim results demonstrated strong humoral and cellular immune response against the SARS-CoV-2 Wuhan-Hu-1 strain and the Beta, Delta, and Omicron BA.1 variants up to day 98 post-dosing.

Previous studies showed improved response rates to salvage chemotherapy (SCT) after progression to anti-PD-(L)1 agents. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of SCT and to identify predictors of response and survival in patients with R/M HNSCC.

Method: Based on the 5th BMI-percentile admission, adolescents with underweight AN (n = 520) and atypical AN (n = 255) were included and medical records were reviewed.
Results: Low prealbumin (35%) and neutropenia (39%), and several abnormalities in endocrinological parameters (50%) were the most common alterations found in the whole sample.
Purpose: Radiotherapy (RT) with concomitant cisplatin (CRT) or cetuximab (ERT) are accepted treatment options for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (LA-SCCHN). Long-term adverse events (AEs) have a vast impact on patients' quality of life. This study explored tissue biomarkers which could help predict late toxicity.

Here, we present two new mRNAs expressing antigenic parts of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and provide data supporting their functionality. The first mRNA, called RBD-mRNA, encodes a trimeric form of the virus spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD).

Here we report the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of a recombinant protein RBD fusion heterodimeric vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 (PHH-1V) evaluated in a phase 1-2a dose-escalation, randomized clinical trial conducted in Catalonia, Spain. 30 young healthy adults were enrolled and received two intramuscular doses, 21 days apart of PHH-1V vaccine formulations [10 µg (n = 5), 20 µg (n = 10), 40 µg (n = 10)] or control [BNT162b2 (n = 5)].

This study aimed to analyze the psychometric properties of the Brown Assessment of Beliefs Scale (BABS) in a sample of adolescents diagnosed with a FEP, AN, or OCD, and to compare delusional thinking among the three samples. The sample comprised 60 patients in three groups of 20 diagnosed with OCD, AN, or FEP.

Adolescent females (age, 13-17 years) were enrolled into AN ( = 30) and control( = 23) groups. The Subjective Body Dimensions Apparatus (SBDA) was used to evaluate body size estimates for oneself (self-estimation) and others (other-estimation).

Here, we report the interim results of the Phase IIb HH-2, where the immunogenicity and safety of a heterologous booster with PHH-1V is assessed versus a homologous booster with BNT162b2 at 14, 28 and 98 days after vaccine administration.
Methods: The HH-2 study is an ongoing multicentre, randomised, active-controlled, double-blind, non-inferiority Phase IIb trial, where participants 18 years or older who had received two doses of BNT162b2 were randomly assigned in a 2:1 ratio to receive a booster dose of vaccine-either heterologous (PHH-1V group) or homologous (BNT162b2 group)-in 10 centres in Spain.
The development of new strategies to achieve a functional cure for HIV remains a priority. We tested a novel HIV therapeutic vaccine using unmodified mRNA (TMEP-B) and mRNA modified by 1-methyl-3'-pseudouridylyl (TMEP-Bmod) expressing both a multiepitopic sequences from Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins, including different CD4 and CD8 T-cell epitopes functionally associated with HIV control in transfected monocyte-derived dendritic cells (MDDCs) obtained from HIV infected patients. In vitro assays were used to test the mRNAs alone and in combination with immunomodulator agents, such as the TLR-7 agonist Vesatolimod and the PD-1 antagonist Nivolumab to try to improve HIV-specific cellular immune responses.

Statistical methods for the meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) studies are relatively complex, presenting a challenge for reviewers without extensive statistical expertise. In 2006, we developed Meta-DiSc, a free user-friendly software to perform test accuracy meta-analysis.

We consider that longer exposure as in 28-day postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) course and in an setting, such as after a sexual risk exposure to HIV could give us valuable information about these drugs. In a substudy we assessed pharmacokinetics, changes on immune system and rectal mucosal susceptibility to HIV-1 infection after taking maraviroc (MVC), raltegravir (RAL), and ritonavir-boosted lopinavir (LPV/r) PEP-based regimens in 30 men who have sex with men.

However, a very few people (eg, elite and post-treatment controllers) are able to maintain viral loads below detection limits without ART, constituting a realistic model for long-term HIV remission. Here, we describe the HIV control mechanisms of an individual who showed exceptional post-treatment control for longer than 15 years.

The Child Obsessive-Compulsive Impact Scale (COIS-R) is a parent- and self-report measure of the impairment related to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) symptoms. Previous research has demonstrated the reliability and validity of the original version of the COIS-R; to date, however, the scale has not been validated for use in Spanish samples of pediatric OCD. The present study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of this in a clinical sample of pediatric OCD (n = 91).

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic, associated with confinement and social isolation, seems to have impacted the course of many mental disorders in children and adolescents. An increase in hospital admission rates for juvenile anorexia nervosa (AN) has been documented in many regions of the world. However, data from Europe are scarce.

Methods: Serial echocardiography was performed in 20 term infants receiving TH on days 1-3 and again after re-warming. Left ventricular (LV) fractional shortening, LV cardiac output, and tissue Doppler imaging-derived myocardial velocities and myocardial performance index were measured.
Background: High mortality rates have been reported in patients with anorexia nervosa, mainly due to cardiovascular alterations. The purpose of the present study was to assess cardiac structural and functional abnormalities some 20 years after initial treatment in a sample of adolescent-onset anorexia nervosa (A-AN) and to compare them with matched healthy controls (HC).
Methods: A sample of 29 women diagnosed and treated for AN during adolescence (A-AN) were assessed more than 20 years later.
