Purpose: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) are two pathologic conditions sharing several clinical features (hirsutism, acne, polycystic ovary morphology, metabolic alterations, ovulatory dysfunctions) and especially hyperandrogenism as a common clinical hallmark. Therefore, making a differential diagnosis of the two conditions still remains a great medical challenge.

Methods: In particular, the comparison discussed in this review referred to non-classical form of adrenal hyperplasia (NCAH), which regards the adult population, and the Endocrine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS), following the new set of PCOS diagnostic criteria proposed by the Experts Group on Inositol and Clinical Research, and on PCOS (EGOI-PCOS).

Aim: to evaluate the efficacy of an integrated management approach for ovarian endometriomas using Dienogest administered both before and after laparoscopic cyst enucleation in women with infertility.

Materials And Methods: The prospective, comparative clinical trial included 44 patients aged 18-35 years with ovarian endometriomas and infertility. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: the study group (20 participants) received Dienogest for six months before and after laparoscopic cyst enucleation, while the control group (24 participants) underwent laparoscopic cyst enucleation without additional hormonal treatment.

Aim Of The Study: To evaluate the functional state of the reproductive system following unilateral oophorectomy (UO).

Materials And Methods: Forty-three patients (aged 7 to 38 years) who underwent unilateral oophorectomy were divided into three groups based on their age at the time of surgery: Group I (7-15 years), Group II (16-30 years), and Group III (30-38 years). The functional state of the reproductive system was assessed 3 months and 1 year after the procedure.

Aim of the study - the assessment of the diagnostic value of Progesterone-Induced Blocking Factor (PIBF) in Early Pregnancy Loss (EPL), in naturally conceived women and in women who underwent In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). In the prospective and retrospective study 50 naturally conceived women were divided into three groups: Group I - patients with progressive pregnancy; Group II- patients with EPL; Group III - patients with biochemical pregnancy (BP). 36 pregnant women after IVF were divided into three groups: Group IV - patients with progressive pregnancy, Group V - patients with EPL, and Group VI - patients with BP.

Cervical ripening is a critical component of normal parturition. There are substantial variations in labour induction (IOL) techniques around the world. Mifepristone causes the termination of unwanted pregnancies, but there is a lack of consensus on its use for labour induction.

Background: d-Chiro-inositol is a natural molecule that, in association with its well-studied isomer myo-inositol, may play a role in treating various metabolic and gynecological disorders.

Objectives: This perspective seeks to explore the mechanisms and functions of d-chiro-inositol, laying the foundations to discuss its use in clinical practice, across dysmetabolism, obesity, and hormonal dysregulation.

Methods: A narrative review of all the relevant papers known to the authors was conducted.

Objective: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrinological and metabolic disorder widely diffused and diagnosed in women of reproductive age. The pathology exhibits alteration of the reproductive functions, including conditions as hyperandrogenism, menstrual cycle irregularity, type 2 diabetes. These conditions are visible in the patients through phenotypical manifestations as hirsutism, acne, and obesity.

Myo-inositol (myo-Ins) and D-chiro-inositol (D-chiro-Ins) are natural compounds involved in many biological pathways. Since the discovery of their involvement in endocrine signal transduction, myo-Ins and D-chiro-Ins supplementation has contributed to clinical approaches in ameliorating many gynecological and endocrinological diseases. Currently both myo-Ins and D-chiro-Ins are well-tolerated, effective alternative candidates to the classical insulin sensitizers, and are useful treatments in preventing and treating metabolic and reproductive disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and male fertility disturbances, like sperm abnormalities.

: This Experts' opinion provides an updated scientific support to gynecologists, obstetricians, endocrinologists, nutritionists, neurologists and general practitioners on the use of Inositols in the therapy of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and non-insulin dependent (type 2) diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).: This paper summarizes the physiology of Myo-Inositol (MI) and D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI), two important molecules present in human organisms, and their therapeutic role, also for treating infertility. Some deep differences between the physiological functions of MI and DCI, as well as their safety and intestinal absorption are discussed.

A prospective study was carried out in 110 adolescents (13-19 years), 90 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) (study group) and 20 healthy adolescents (control group). The study group was divided into two: Group I - patients without insulin resistance ( = 30) and Group II - patients with insulin resistance ( = 60). Group I was treated with oral contraceptives (OCs), while Group II was divided into treatment subgroups of 20 patients each: Subgroup A received OCs; Subgroup B - myo-inositol; subgroup C - OCs + myo-inositol.
