Introduction: The emerging trends of asymmetric and urban warfare call for a revision of the needs and the way in which frontline trauma care is provided to affected population. However, there is no consensus on the process to decide when and how to provide such lifesaving interventions in form of Trauma Stabilization Point (TSP).
Methods: A three-step Delphi method was used to establish consensus.
Introduction: Asymmetric warfare and the reaction to its threats have implications in the way far-forward medical assistance is provided in such settings. Investments in far-forward emergency resuscitation and stabilization can contribute to saving lives and increase the resilience of health systems. Thus, it is proposed to extend the use of the Haddon Matrix to determine a set of strategies to better understand and prioritize activities to prepare for and set-up frontline care in the form of Trauma Stabilization Points (TSPs).

Milk from two groups of Sarda sheep grazing on 40% (P40) and 60% (P60) of pasture were analyzed by a UHPLC-QTOF-MS analytical platform and data submitted to multivariate statistical analysis. Pairwise partial least square discriminant analysis of the lipid profile of the data was carried out to classify samples and to find discriminant lipids.

Milk samples have been analyzed, throughout lactation (from February to July), by time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR), collecting the characteristic TD-NMR relaxation parameters, proton longitudinal and transverse relaxation times (H T and T). Collected data aim at integrating previous NMR works, mainly focusing on dairy model systems (casein and whey proteins solutions and gels, reconstituted skim milk) and cheese, with specific reference to the effect of heat treatments.

In this context, the entire health care workforce must be properly trained to guarantee an effective response. Just-in-time training has been an efficient solution for rapidly equipping health care workers with new knowledge, skills, and attitudes during emergencies; thus, it could also be an effective training technique in the context of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this work, the effects of milk thermization on the compositional parameters, proteolysis indices, free fatty acid levels, and low molecular weight metabolite profiles of ovine cheese were studied. Cheese samples at different ripening stages and produced in 2 different periods of the year were analyzed.

The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of whey protein concentration, obtained by ultrafiltration, on yield of fresh ovine ricotta cheese. Ricotta cheeses were obtained by thermocoagulation of mixtures with protein content of 1.

Methods: We tested the role of the beta2AR-16 and beta2AR-27 gene variants in the susceptibility to the development of ischemic stroke in a genetically homogenous and clinically well-characterized case-control sample that included 294 cases and 286 controls from Sardinia, Italy.
Although many failed surrogate markers are provided in the literature, inflammation may contribute to the outcome of ischemic stroke. In 50 consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke, in the absence of symptoms and signs of concomitant infection, we evaluated a panel of biomarkers reported to be variably associated with brain ischemia, and correlate their serum level with the brain lesion volume and clinical outcome. Infarct size was calculated on computed tomography (CT) scans by means of the Cavalieri's method.

Four forage species were compared: annual ryegrass (RY, Lolium rigidum Gaudin), sulla (SU, Hedysarum coronarium L.), burr medic (BM, Medicago polymorpha L.

In the present study we tested the role of the Factor VII G10976A and -C122T polymorphisms on the susceptibility to develop IS in a genetically homogenous and clinically well ascertained case-control study including 294 cases (median age 75 years; 176 males/118 females) and 286 controls (median age 73 years; 163 males/123 females) in Sardinia, Italy. In addition, we carried out an exploratory analysis with respect to other frequently studied polymorphisms of haemostatic factor genes:Factor II G20210A, Factor V G1691A,,Fibrinogen alpha-chain Thr312Ala, Fibrinogen beta-chain -C148T, Factor XIII G185T, GPIIb/IIIa T1565C.

In the present study we characterized the contributory role of RAAS genes in the susceptibility to develop ischemic stroke in humans.
Methods: Allele and genotype frequencies of RAAS genes were characterized in a population of 215 cases (including only atherothrombotic and lacunar forms) and 236 controls selected in Sardinia, a large Mediterranean island with a well-known segregated population.
