Influenza can lead to or coexist with severe bacterial pneumonia, with the potential to permanently damage lung tissue, refractory to conservative treatment in the post-COVID-19 period. It can lead to serious complications; therefore, annual vaccinations are recommended. This case series with a literature review pertains to two young female patients with an insignificant past medical history, who required emergency lobectomy due to bacterial complications after influenza infection.
