The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of selected vibratory strengthening machining factors on the properties of CuZn30 brass. Vibratory strengthening machining was carried out using metal media dedicated to polishing processes, which also contributed to strengthening the treated surfaces. The test samples were cut with an abrasive water jet and recrystallized to obtain a soft microstructure.

This article compares the behavior of three different Alnico alloys in electrical discharge machining. The experiments were conducted under different conditions using a BP93L EDM machine (ZAP BP, Końskie, Poland), applying an additional rotary motion to the electrode.

The structure of S235JR carbon steel used in the experiments was reported to change locally in the jet impact zone due to the high concentration of energy generated during cutting with the abrasive water jet. It is assumed that some of the energy is transferred into the material in the form of heat.

The influence of temperature changes during AWJM has not been investigated thoroughly. Most studies on AWJM suggest that thermal energy has little or no effect on the material cut.

This paper presents an experimental method which can be applicable for the evaluation of the AWJ cutting quality through the measurement of forces during the cutting process. The force measuring device developed and patented by our team has been used for measurement on several metal materials.
