The Age-Friendly Health System (AFHS) movement continues to grow in the United States as more health systems implement the 4Ms framework. Despite this growth, there are relatively few studies that evaluate outcomes related to AFHS implementation. This study assessed patient satisfaction with AFHS by analyzing the rate at which patients returned to the clinic for future health care, serving as a measure of quality.

In May 2020, the MinuteClinic at CVS implemented the 4Ms model in all 1100+ store locations nationwide. To prepare healthcare providers to deliver 4Ms care, educational modules were developed to provide an understanding of the gerontology principles that support the 4Ms model of care.

Use of the 'double diamond' design framework to nurture creativity in life sciences research.

Designers' work processes are shaped by a four-phase 'discover, define, develop, and deliver' model that alternates between divergent and convergent thinking. We suggest consideration of this conceptual scaffold in 'design sprint' workshops for graduate students in the life sciences and in design to promote creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and knowledge cocreation.

Furthermore, they exhibit a favourable tolerance profile, and adverse events causing significant morbidity are infrequent.

Low cycle fatigue lifetime prediction of superplastic shape memory alloy structures: Application to endodontic instruments.

In this paper we propose a methodology for a fast numerical determination of low cycle fatigue lifetime of superelastic shape memory alloy structures. This method is based on the observation that generally, in low cycle fatigue, shape memory alloy (SMA) structures are subject to loadings that lead to a confined non-linear behaviour at stress concentration points, such as notches. Numerical fatigue lifetime prediction requires the computation of the mechanical state at critical points.

Predicting Risk of Severe Toxicity and Early Death in Older Adult Patients Treated with Chemotherapy.

Background: Determining the risk of grade 3-5 toxicity and early death (ED) is important to plan chemotherapy in older adult patients with cancer. Our objective was to identify factors predicting these complications at the time of treatment initiation.

Methods: 234 patients aged ≥70 were subjected to a geriatric assessment and variables related to the tumor and the treatment were also collected.

Objective: From 2009 to 2019, staff, students, and faculty volunteers from a chiropractic college started Mission Trip America, later re-named Service Trip America (STA), providing monthly free chiropractic services at a hiring hall for day laborers in San Francisco until the 2020 COVID-19 hiatus. We report on volunteers' service-learning experiences.

Methods: Mixed-methods analysis comprising document review, descriptive report of site visit records, and thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 12 student and faculty volunteers.

Data-independent acquisition (DIA) mass spectrometry methods provide systematic and comprehensive quantification of the proteome; yet, relatively few open-source tools are available to analyze DIA proteomics experiments. Fewer still are tools that can leverage gas phase fractionated (GPF) chromatogram libraries to enhance the detection and quantification of peptides in these experiments. Here, we present nf-encyclopedia, an open-source NextFlow pipeline that connects three open-source tools, MSConvert, EncyclopeDIA, and MSstats, to analyze DIA proteomics experiments with or without chromatogram libraries.

Owing to the low temperatures of the Solar System giants, refractory elements condense below the cloud deck, limiting sensing capabilities to only highly volatile elements. Post-transcriptional modifications of RNA strongly influence the RNA structure and function. Recent advances in RNA sequencing and mass spectrometry (MS) methods have identified over 140 of these modifications on a wide variety of RNA species. Most next-generation sequencing approaches can only map one RNA modification at a time, and while MS can assign multiple modifications simultaneously in an unbiased manner, MS cannot accurately catalog and assign RNA modifications in complex biological samples due to limitations in the fragment length and coverage depth.

We assessed the nivolumab efficacy in terms of survival and response to treatment as second-line (2L) or third-line (3L) therapy in patients with advanced NSCLC. This is a multicentric observational study.

Microproteins (MPs) are a potentially rich source of uncharacterized metabolic regulators. Here, we use ribosome profiling (Ribo-seq) to curate 3,877 unannotated MP-encoding small ORFs (smORFs) in primary brown, white, and beige mouse adipocytes. Of these, we validated 85 MPs by proteomics, including 33 circulating MPs in mouse plasma.
