Background: The metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) leads to a poor prognosis, wherein the activation of Notch1 is an essential contributor. Cepharanthine (Cep) has been identified for its effective antiviral function and versatile intracellular targets. Our previous study has only reported the anti-cancer efficacy of Cep in lung cancer, without an in-depth exploration.

Anterior atlantoaxial motion preservation fixation technique for axis complex fractures (odontoid process with Hangman's fractures) and technique notes.

This study aims to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of anterior atlantoaxial motion preservation fixation (AMPF) in treating axis complex fractures involving the odontoid process fracture and Hangman's fractures with C2/3 instability. A retrospective study was conducted on eight patients who underwent AMPF for axis complex fractures at the General Hospital of Central Theater Command from February 2004 to October 2021. The types of axis injuries, reasons for injuries, surgery time, intraoperative blood loss, spinal cord injury classification (American Spinal Injury Association, ASIA), as well as complications and technical notes, were documented.

[Anatomical repair of Atzei-EWAS type 2 triangular fibrocartilage complex injury under wrist arthroscopy].

Objective: To explore the effectiveness of anatomical repair of Atzei-EWAS type 2 triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injury under wrist arthroscopy.

Methods: Between March 2018 and March 2020, 16 patients with Atzei-EWAS type 2 TFCC injury were admitted, and the TFCCs were anatomically repaired with a three-dimensional suture with a thread anchor under wrist arthroscopy. There were 10 males and 6 females with an average of 40.

Comparison between open reduction with internal fixation to circular external fixation for tibial plateau fractures: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Peer-reviewed published studies on tibial plateau fractures treated with either open reduction with internal fixation (ORIF) or circular external fixation were reviewed to compare functional, radiological outcomes, postoperative complications, and reoperation rates between the two methods. A systematic search of various databases including Medline, Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials (CENTRAL), ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar from inception until June 2019 was performed. 17 studies with 1168 participants were included in the review.

Objective: To explore the value of nerve trunk stimulation in the rehabilitation of lower limb function in the patients with cerebral apoplexy at convalescence stage.

Methods: According the random number table, the patients with the lower limb dysfunction of cerebral apoplexy at convalescence stage were divided into a control group and a treatment group, 42 cases in each group. The drug therapy and the routine rehabilitation training were provided in the two groups.

It is urgent to introduce new drugs for tuberculosis to shorten the prolonged course of treatment and control drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). One strategy toward this goal is to develop antibiotics that eradicate both replicating (R) and nonreplicating (NR) Mtb. Naturally occurring (+)-calanolide A was active against R-Mtb.

[On the transmission role of residual microfilaremia cases in the area with filariasis virtually eradicated].

The transmission role of the residual microfilaremia cases was studied in Pingle Village, Liangqing Township, Yongning County where bancroftian filariasis had been virtually eradicated during 1984-1988. The results indicated that after the microfilarial rate of the human population met the criterion of elimination of filariasis, namely below 1% of the total population in all the administrative villages, and the average density of microfilaria being around 5 per 60 microliters peripheral blood, subsequent control measures might be no longer instituted while the microfilaria rate and its density could continue to decline. Some residual microfilaremiae cases having higher microfilarial density turned negative gradually, so did the natural infection rate of Culex quinquefasciatus with filaria larvae and its density year by year.
