Background And Aims: Childhood obesity leads to significant health risks, emphasizing the critical need for effective preventive measures during the preschool years. However, there is a lack of comprehensive studies on overweight and obesity among preschool children in Hainan Island, China's largest free-trade zone. Our study assessed the prevalence of overweight and obesity among preschool children across Hainan Island using Chinese, World Health Organization (WHO), and International Obesity Task Force (IOTF) criteria.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFResuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) is considered a key measure of treatment due to its use in stabilizing patients in shock through temporary inflow occlusion for noncompressible torso hemorrhage as well as its supportive role in myocardial and cerebral perfusion. Although its clinical efficacy in trauma has been widely recognized, concerns over related complications, such as vascular access and ischemia-reperfusion, are on the rise. This paper aims to investigate complications associated with REBOA and identify current and emerging prevention or mitigation strategies through a literature review based on human or animal data.

Aim: To investigate the association of obesity and elevated alanine aminotransferase with insulin resistance and compare these factors with metabolic syndrome.
Methods: We enrolled a total of 1308 male workers aged from 22 to 63 years. Data was extracted from the workers' periodic health check-ups in hospitals.
