Four cases of acute panendothelial retinal leakage in juvenile diabetes are presented. One patient showed acute disc swelling mimicking optic disc new vessels, one had acute cystoid maculopathy, two had both diffuse retinal leakage and optic disc edema. Acute disc swelling and acute cystoid maculopathy in juvenile diabetes are probably variations of the same clinical entity.

The 595 angiographic lesions observed in 233 eyes of 169 patients affected with central serous retinopathy have been classified upon their localization. 498 angiographic lesions (83.7 percent) are located within a three optic disc diameter area centered by the foveola.

In some cases the colloid bodies become confluent before resorbing. Confluence of drusen may lead to a large hyalin detachment of the pigment epithelium which should be differienciated from serous detachment.
