Objective: To investigate the feasibilily of screening and identifying the red blood cell type alloantibodies by means of surface plasman resonance(SPR) technique so as to provide a new method for detecting the transfusion compatibility of red blood cells.
Methods: The RBC antigens for screening the alloantibody were fixed on the SPR chip surface by means of amino coupling method; the analysis conditions of SPR chip were optimized and then the control serum with RBC blood group antibody positive was detected; the performance of SPR chip for detection of serum was analysed; the consistance of rusults detected by SPR technique and microcolum agglutination for clinieal samples of 129 thalasstmia patients with history of lone-term blood transfusion were compared; at the same time, the blood group amtibodies in 7 patients with blood group antibody positive were identified before blood transfusion by using SPR chip so as to select the RBC antigen compatible blood for transfusion; and the efficacy of RBC transfusion was followed up and evaluated.
Results: The repeatability, sensitivity and specificity of SPR chip technique for detecting the blood group alloantibodies all were better.
Ten previously undescribed bibenzyl derivatives (bletistrins A-J), including 5 that have hydroxyl-substituted chiral centres on the aliphatic bibenzyl bridge, along with twelve known bibenzyl derivatives, were isolated from the rhizomes of Bletilla striata. The structures of bletistrins A-J were primarily elucidated on the basis of their 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data. The absolute configurations of bletistrins A, D, F, H and I were determined by electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopic analysis and optical rotation value.

Rationale: Opportunistic infections frequently develop in immunocompromised patients, such as those with hematological malignancies, causing significant mortality. Early diagnosis of invasive fungal infections is often important and difficult due to the difficult nature of confirming infection using cytologic and histologic findings. However, we report the first case of candidal infection leading to muscle abscesses in the legs of a patient with leukemia.

The neuroprotective effects of this compound against HO induced cell injury in SH-SY5Y cells were evaluated by MTT assay and LDH release assay. Vernicilignan A dose-dependently attenuated the cell injury and LDH release induced by HO in SH-SY5Y cells.

Methods: With 3D reconstitution technology, liver regeneration ability of 117 patients was analysed, and relative factors were studied.
Results: There was no statistically difference between the volume of simulated liver resection and the actual liver resection.
Background: A deep learning computer artificial intelligence system is helpful for early identification of ground glass opacities (GGOs).
Methods: Images from the Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC-IDRI) database were used in AlexNet and GoogLeNet to detect pulmonary nodules, and 221 GGO images provided by Xinhua Hospital were used in ResNet50 for detecting GGOs. We used computed tomography image radial reorganization to create the input image of the three-dimensional features, and used the extracted features for deep learning, network training, testing, and analysis.
Proteases are important molecules that are involved in many physiological and pathological processes of the human body, such as growth, apoptosis and metastasis cancer cells. They are potential targets in cancer diagnosis and biotherapy. In this study, we analyzed the salivary protease spectrum of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), oral benign masses and chronic periodontitis, as well as that of health, using human protease array kits, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, western blot and immunofluorescence.

Here we identified a signaling pathway-involving the serine-threonine kinase AKT and the transcription factor XBP1s, which regulates unfolded protein response genes-that was activated in response to IL-15 in human NK cells. IL-15 induced the phosphorylation of AKT, which led to the deubiquitination, increased stability and nuclear accumulation of XBP1s protein.

Rationale: Cerebral aneurysm is a common cause of intracranial hemorrhage, stroke, and death. It is treated with vascular surgeries, such as coil embolism and artery clipping. However, surgery itself is a risk factor that may cause rupture of aneurysm, and leads to irreversible brain damage, and even death.

We combine two approaches to overcome these barriers: inhibition of natural killer (NK) cells and enhancement of intratumoral viral spread. We engineered an oHSV to express CDH1, encoding E-cadherin, an adherent molecule and a ligand for KLRG1, an inhibitory receptor expressed on NK cells.

It is believed that blocking tumor energy metabolic alterations is now emerging as a new therapeutic approach of cancer. Berberine, a natural isoquinoline alkaloid, could modulate lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis by regulating the expression of HNF4α in many metabolic diseases.

In the Chinese literature nearly 80% of transfused patients with alloimmunization have antibodies specific for antigens of the Rh blood group system. We investigated if it is feasible to match packed red blood cells (RBCs) for Chinese β-thalassemia patients by genotyping.

Odontoid fractures easily lead to instability, causing spinal cord injury. The aim of this study was to measure and analyze the micro-architecture and morphometric parameters of the normal odontoid with high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Micro-CT scans were obtained from five normal odontoid processes.

The structures of these new compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic techniques (UV, IR, MS, and 1D and 2D NMR), and their absolute configurations were established by comparing experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra. Compounds 1-8 were evaluated for antimicrobial activities and the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined by the broth microdilution method in 96-well culture plates.

However, we demonstrated here that selective deletion of Smad4 in NK cells actually led to dramatically reduced tumor cell rejection and augmented tumor cell metastases, reduced murine CMV clearance, as well as impeded NK cell homeostasis and maturation. This was associated with a downregulation of granzyme B (Gzmb), Kit, and Prdm1 in Smad4-deficient NK cells.

Thus, it is still essential to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and explore the diagnostic and therapeutic targets of OC. Recent studies have revealed that proline-rich protein 11 (PRR11) is dysregulated in different cancers, participating in their initiation and progression; however, it remains unclear whether PRR11 is involved in OC.

This process could be driven by a diverse range of mitogens, such as hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF). Among FGF family, FGF2 is closely related to wound repair and cell proliferation.

An important goal and challenge in the treatment of spinal cord injury is inhibiting or reversing secondary injury. Governor Vessel electroacupuncture can improve symptoms of spinal cord injury by inhibiting cell apoptosis and improving the microenvironment of the injured spinal cord.

Cancer stem cells (CSCs), representing the root of many solid tumors including ovarian cancer, have been implicated in disease recurrence, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance. Our previous study has demonstrated that the CSC subpopulation in ovarian cancer can be limited by DNA damage-binding protein 2 (DDB2). Here, we demonstrated that the ovarian CSC subpopulation can be maintained via cancer cell dedifferentiation, and DDB2 is able to suppress this non-CSC-to-CSC conversion by repression of ALDH1A1 transcription.

Frequent mutations (10-40%) in the ligand-binding domain (LBD) codons in the gene encoding ERα (ESR1) have been identified, resulting in ligand-independent, constitutively active receptors. In addition, ESR1 chromosomal translocations can occur, resulting in fusion proteins that lack the LBD and are entirely unresponsive to all endocrine treatments.
