The article presents data on the use of peptide bioregulators of cell homeostasis and the protective functions of the body in various dental diseases and pathology of organs and tissues of the maxillofacial region. Issues related to the immunopharmacological effect and clinical use of natural and synthetic peptide thymomimetics (thymalin, thymogen, vilon, epithalamin, cortexin) and peptide bioregulators from cartilaginous (sigumir, chondrolux) and other tissues in case of trauma, as well as inflammatory, inflammatory and other pathological processes of tissues of the oral cavity and maxillofacial region. Particular attention is paid to their use in the complex treatment of dental diseases in the elderly.

Chronic periodontit inflammation in old-aged patients was found to be accompanied by imbalance of complement system; sIgA, IgA, IgG and IgM hyperproduction; increased concentrations of IL-8, IL-1alpha and decreased level of IL-4; abrogated NO and its derivatives concentration; increased anti-HSP-70 and homocystein levels in blood and saliva. The obtained results justify the necessity to use in therapy of chronic parodontit inflammation the immunocorrection, antioxidant and bioregulatory therapy, which normalize the cells function.

Local anti-inflammatory therapy of chronic periodontitis does not restore normal immunity status. Appearance of antibodies to HSP plays a role in immune reactions, which maintain chronic inflammation of periodontium.

This work was aimed at the study of the effect of thymomimetic Vilon on the immune status and coagulation hemostasis in elderly patients with type I diabetes mellitus. It was found that the administration of Vilon as an addition to the complex therapy for this cohort of patients resulted in optimization of coagulation hemostasis, which was manifested in the increased content of natural anticoagulants: antithrombin III and protein C, as well as in the stimulation of fibrinolysis.

The obtained data testify the development of chronic form of DIC syndrome, moreover there is a correlation between the age of the patient, the severity of the disease, insulin dose, presence and severity of the complications on the one hand and the intensity of DIC syndrome on the other hand. Generally accepted treatment of the DM-1 patients doesn't exert considerable effect on the processes of intravascular blood coagulation.

A problem is that the ERM model predicts less imbalance than observed for trees inferred from real data; in fact, the observed imbalance tends to fall between the values predicted by the ERM model and those predicted by the proportional-to-distinguishable-arrangements (PDA) model. Here, a continuous multi-rate (MR) family of evolutionary models is presented which contains entire subfamilies corresponding to both the PDA and ERM models.

The rate of free radical oxidation was estimated by the levels of diene conjugates (DC), malonic dialdehyde (MDA) and by the activity of selenium-containing glutathione peroxidase (GPO). The findings suggest that there are profound injury-induced changes in free radical oxidation and antioxidative defense.

Studies made in 30 patients with periodontosis have shown that thymaline improves the general health status of patients, thereby promoting the normalization of cellular and, to a lesser degree, humoral immunity. At the same time the drug normalizes blood coagulation, the total and Hageman factor-dependent fibrinolysis. It is concluded that thymaline is a modulator of the immunogenesis and hemostasis.
