Although exploring the pathogenesis of IgAN and improving the treatment strategies continuously, the exact pathogenesis of IgAN remains unclear and the disease still leads to high mortality. Recently, emerging evidence has demonstrated that dysregulated intestinal mucosal immunity and gut microbiome imbalance may play a combined role in the development and progression of IgAN.
