Objective: To evaluate the effect of long-term treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on the heart rate variability (HRV) of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients.

Material And Method: Patients with moderate to severe OSA who had never used CPAP treatment were enrolled. Short recording HRV analysis was performed at baseline then at one, three, and six months after CPAP treatment.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Pimporn Limphanudom"

  • - Pimporn Limphanudom's research primarily focuses on the impact of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment on patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and its effects on heart rate variability (HRV).
  • - In a 2007 study published in the Journal of Medical Association of Thailand, Limphanudom investigated the recovery of HRV in patients with moderate to severe OSA undergoing a 6-month CPAP treatment regimen.
  • - The findings indicated a significant improvement in HRV after long-term CPAP therapy, highlighting the positive effects of this treatment on cardiovascular health in OSA patients.
