Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates how acute alcohol intoxication impacts creatinine kinase levels in adolescents under 18, using data from a Dutch hospital from 2008 to 2021.
  • Out of 495 adolescents treated for alcohol intoxication, 60% had elevated creatinine kinase levels, and 4.4% were diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis.
  • The findings indicate that higher blood alcohol concentrations correlate with increased creatinine kinase levels, highlighting the need for awareness regarding alcohol's effects on muscle tissue in young individuals.
