Aims & Objectives: In clinical practice, arthroplasties are predominantly indicated by clinical and radiological assessment of osteoarthritis. Pain and function are individually considered, but a comprehensive analysis of differences in symptom reporting by pre-operative factors is lacking. In the present study, we determined differences in patient reported outcome measures between demographic groups among patients admitted to total knee arthroplasty.

The aim of the study is to compare the overall complication rate and in particular lag screw cut-out between the Trochanteric Gamma Nail and the Gamma 3 Nail. A total of 294 implants (Trochanteric Gamma Nail= 132 and Gamma 3 Nail=163) in 291 patients were analysed. All clinical data was obtained from the patients medical records.

Background: Short-segment pedicle-screw instrumentation is frequently used to stabilize thoracolumbar burst fractures. A recognized disadvantage of this procedure is recurrent kyphosis from intervertebral disc creep into the fractured central endplate. Balloon Assisted Endplate Reduction (BAER) using Tricalcium Phosphate bone cement (TCP) enables elevation of the centrally depressed endplate.

Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the scaphoid in children is very rare and there is currently no consensus when conservative or operative treatment is indicated. A 10-year-old boy, practicing karate, presented with acute pain in his left wrist after falling on the outstretched hand. Imaging showed a scaphoid waist fracture with signs of an ongoing AVN.
