Task2 K(+) channel expression in the central nervous system is surprisingly restricted to a few brainstem nuclei, including the retrotrapezoid (RTN) region. This study (104389/NCT00127023) was undertaken to assess the immunogenicity and safety of a new refrigerator-stable tetravalent MMRV vaccine after 1 dose and after 2 doses administered during the second year of life.
Methods: Nine hundred seventy healthy children aged 10-21 months received 2 doses of MMRV vaccine (Priorix-Tetra; GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, Rixensart, Belgium) 42 days apart (MMRV group; N = 732) or 1 dose of MMR vaccine (Priorix) coadministered with varicella vaccine (Varilrix) followed by a second dose of only MMR vaccine 42 days later (MMR + V group; N = 238).
Our aim was to shed light on different steps leading from metabotropic receptor activation to changes in cell shape, such as those that characterize the morphological plasticity of neurohypophysial astrocytes (pituicytes). Using explant cultures of adult rat pituicytes, we have previously established that adenosine A1 receptor activation induces stellation via inhibition of RhoA monomeric GTPase and subsequent disruption of actin stress fibers. Here, we rule out RhoA phosphorylation as a mechanism for that inhibition.

There is not a single "new politics of the welfare state" but distinct political dynamics in different "regimes" or "configurations", which are characterized by different problem loads and different structures of political opportunity.

Mammalian corticotrophin releasing factor (CRF) and teleostean neurohypophysial peptides (arginine vasotocin (AVT) and isotocin (IT)) stimulated ACTH release. Analysis of concentrations giving half-maximal effects (D50) showed that these peptides affected ACTH release in the following order of potency: CRF (8 x 10(-13) M) > AVT (2 x 10(-10) M) > IT (10(-7) M).
