Three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology has revolutionized the field of the use of bioceramics for maxillofacial and periodontal applications, offering unprecedented control over the shape, size, and structure of bioceramic implants. In addition, bioceramics have become attractive materials for these applications due to their biocompatibility, biostability, and favorable mechanical properties. This clinical report describes the prosthetic management of occlusion for a patient who had received condylar resection as part of cancer treatment. Previous reports have identified that patients with unrepaired segmental resection of the mandible experienced a frontal plane rotation of the mandible toward the nonsurgical side. In contrast, because of preservation of temporomandibular muscles and their attachments, the mandible rotated toward the surgical side, and occlusal contacts were limited to a pair of molars on that side.

Introduction: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine whether the methods used to treat endodontically and restore anterior immature teeth with a necrotic pulp influence their resistance to fracture.

Methods: After access opening and cleaning and shaping, 80 specimen teeth were assigned into 5 groups according to the endodontic obturation method and coronal restoration as follows: A1, apexification with a composite restoration in the crown area; A2, apexification with a composite restoration in the crown and 3 mm into the root; IR, immediate revascularization with a composite restoration in the crown area; SR, successful revascularization with a composite in the crown area; and the control group, a mature tooth treated with gutta-percha and sealer with a composite restoration in the crown area. The teeth were mounted in acrylic blocks and brought to fracture under compressive forces in a universal testing machine.

Objectives: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine whether different storage conditions used during endodontic procedures affect the fracture resistance of extracted teeth used for pre-clinical dental education.

Freshly extracted intact mandibular incisors were assigned to different groups according to the processing method used. The current review was undertaken to obtain a better understanding of the knowledge base of implant-assisted complete dental prostheses (fixed and removable) in the treatment of the completely edentulous maxilla or mandible. Indications, advantages and disadvantages, complications and maintenance issues, as well as the cost-effectiveness of both treatments, are discussed to help clinicians in their therapeutic decision-making. In summary, when indicated and depending on the patients' needs, both removable and fixed implant-assisted prostheses are highly safe, reliable and satisfactory treatment modalities for the rehabilitation of edentulous jaws.

Objective: To measure the localised irradiance and wavelength distributions from dental light curing units (LCUs) and establish a method to characterise their output.

Methods: Using a laboratory grade integrating sphere spectrometer system (Labsphere and Ocean Optics) the power, irradiance, and spectral emission were measured at the light tips of four LCUs: one plasma-arc (PAC) unit, one single peak blue light-emitting diode (blue-LED) unit, and two polywave LED (poly-LED) units. A beam profiler camera (Ophir Spiricon) was used to record the localised irradiance across the face of the light tips.
