Background And Aims: The aim of this systematic review was to assess the risk of cardiac toxicity in patients undergoing approved PD-1 (nivolumab, pembrolizumab, cemiplimab, dostarlimab), PD-L1 (atezolizumab, avelumab, durvalumab), and CTLA-4 (ipilimumab) inhibitors.
Results: Among a total of 2272 articles, 11 phase II and III clinical trials included: 5463 patients and 175 cardiac adverse events. The most common cardiac disorder was atrial fibrillation (12 %), while cardiac arrest and cardiac failure (6 %) led to death in three cases.
The escalating global prevalence of bariatric procedures necessitates an enhanced focus on optimizing perioperative care for improved patient outcomes. This study focuses on the implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Bariatric Surgery (ERABS) protocols in Italian bariatric centers to optimize perioperative care. An online survey comprising 19 items was conducted in October 2023, targeting managing surgeons in 139 registered bariatric centers.

To this end, probes that combine several complementary features are necessary. The ideal probe is selectively uptaken and activated in tumor cells compared with control ones and is not fluorescent in the extracellular medium.

Management of dysphagia often requires the use of specially formulated food products that are easier to swallow, while still meeting the nutritional needs of the patient. Despite the growing market for dysphagia-oriented products, there is a compelling need for comprehensive evaluations of their nutritional quality to ensure that they adequately support the health and well-being of this vulnerable population.

Italian Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery for Obesity (Società Italiana di Chirurgia dell'Obesità e delle Malattie Metaboliche-SICOB) decided to develop the first Italian guidelines for the endoscopic bariatric treatment of obesity. The creation of SICOB Guidelines is based on an extended work made by a panel of 44 members and a coordinator.

We present a new computational approach, named , designed for the development of pharmacophore models based on receptor structures. The methodology involves the sampling of potential hotspots for ligand interactions within a protein target's binding site, utilising molecular fragments as probes. By employing docking and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, the most significant interactions formed by these probes within distinct regions of the binding site are identified.

Background: The GCA is a well performing device in terms of efficacy despite complex anatomies (aortic rim <5 mm and ASD diameter >17 mm) with a good safety profile.
Aims: To evaluate atrial septal defect (ASD) features impacting on right disc device thrombosis in patients who underwent Gore Cardioform ASD Occluder (GCA) implantation.
Methods: A total of 44 consecutive patients undergoing percutaneous ASD with GCA device from January 2020 to September 2022 at our tertiary care Center were evaluated.
Purpose: Poor response to bariatric surgery, characterized by insufficient weight loss (IWL) or weight regain (WR), poses a significant challenge in obesity treatment. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of liraglutide in addressing this issue.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective, multicenter cohort study investigated the impact of liraglutide 3 mg on weight loss in adults with suboptimal responses or weight regain after bariatric surgery (BS).
This study aims to compare different types of metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS) with lifestyle intervention/medical therapy (LSI/MT) for the treatment of overweight/obesity. The present and network meta-analysis (NMA) includes randomized trials. MBS was associated with a reduction of BMI, body weight, and percent weight loss, when compared to LSI/MT, and also with a significant reduction of HbA1c and a higher remission of diabetes.

However, some patients have insufficient weight loss or clinically relevant weight regain after a successful primary procedure. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of liraglutide treatment on weight loss, body composition and improvement of metabolic syndrome (MS) in patients defined as poor responders after BS.

Objectives: To better understand the process of hospital acquisition of innovative medical devices (MDs) and the hospital-based health technology assessment (HB-HTA) pathways in France, an in-depth study based on a quantitative approach is needed. The aim of the present study was to assess through a national survey how HB-HTA is currently implemented in French hospitals and to identify its level of formalization.
Methods: A quantitative online survey was conducted among hospitals performing HB-HTA in France, with a focus on the acquisition of innovative MDs for individual use.
The application of artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) methods is becoming increasingly popular in computational toxicology and drug design; it is considered as a promising solution for assessing the safety profile of compounds, particularly in lead optimization and ADMET studies, and to meet the principles of the 3Rs, which calls for the replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal testing. In this context, we herein present the development of VenomPred 2.0 (http://www.

In this regard, semiconductor superlattice structures provide a unique platform to study phenomena associated with phonon propagations in solids such as heat conduction. Transient X-ray diffraction can directly probe atomic motions and therefore is among the rare techniques sensitive to phonon dynamics in condensed matter.

RBS guidelines are lacking; however, an increased trend in further BS offerings has been reported recently.
Objective: Analyze trend, mortality, complication, readmission, and reoperation rates for any reason at 30 days after RBS in Italy.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex disease characterized by impaired glucose homeostasis and serious long-term complications. First-line therapeutic options for T2DM treatment are monodrug therapies, often replaced by multidrug therapies to ensure that non-responding patients maintain target glycemia levels. The use of multitarget drugs instead of mono- or multidrug therapies has been emerging as a main strategy to treat multifactorial diseases, including T2DM.

A baseline survey of telehealth use prior to admission to the emergency department (ED) conducted before COVID-19 concluded that predominantly well-educated men used telehealth. It is unclear how COVID-19 changed the use of telehealth in Swiss emergency patients.

This process led to the production of secondary and residual by-products, which are mainly composed of the highest and lowest part of the fruits, comprising seeds, pulps, peels and petioles. Hence, this study was focused on the valorization of these secondary by-products of Abate Fetel pears through the production of pear extracts using traditional and "green" extraction methods that involve the use of supercritical CO fluid extraction.

Background: Oilseed-matrix consolidation is a crucial factor when talking about oil expression because, as the cake consolidates, the coefficient of permeability inevitably decreases. Thus, any treatment that extensively ruptures cell walls reduces rigidity and hardness of the oilseed press-cake, while improving the oil expression. Such process intensification was investigated in the present study through the introduction of the ultrasound (US) technology.
