Objective: This study reports the early outcomes of patients with acute non-A non-B aortic dissection that involved the aortic arch but not the ascending aorta.
Methods: From January 2013 to December 2018, 825 patients presented with aortic dissection. Of these, 28 patients with non-A non-B dissection (classified as dissection extending into the aortic arch with entry between the left common carotid artery and the left subclavian arteries) underwent a novel hybrid surgery.
Background: To determine if 3% diquafosol (DQS) can preserve the meibomian gland morphology in glaucoma patients treated with prostaglandin analogs (PGA) for a 12-month follow-up period.
Methods: This study included 84 eyes of 46 normal tension glaucoma (NTG) patients who were treated with either preservative-containing PGA (PC-PGA; 16 patients, 28 eyes), preservative-free PGA (PF-PGA; 21 patients, 39 eyes), or a combination of PC-PGA and 3% DQS (PC-PGA + DQS; 9 patients, 17 eyes). The meibography of the upper eyelid was acquired using Keratograph® 5 M at baseline and at each follow-up (1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months).
Aim: Aberrantly expressed long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are critical instigators of gastric cancer (GC) progression and metastasis. The ceRNA (competing endogenous RNAs) network is well-known in modulating tumor pathological and physiological processes. This research aims to determine the more effective molecular mechanisms of lncRNA PCGEM1 (prostate cancer gene expression marker 1).

A traditional Chinese herbal medicine, arctiin, and its aglycone, arctigenin, are the major bioactive components in and exhibit neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory activities. Arctigenin has been reported to have antidepressant-like effects.

Objective: To detect the expression pattern of UCHL1 in glioma samples and its influence on the metastasis of glioma, as well as the underlying mechanism.
Patients And Methods: UCHL1 levels in 42 paired glioma tissues and paracancerous ones were detected. The relationship between UCHL1 level and pathological indexes in glioma patients was analyzed.
Early diagnosis of hepatic cancer is a major public health challenge. While changes in serum N-glycans have been observed as patients progress from liver fibrosis/cirrhosis to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the predictive performance of N-glycans is yet to be determined for HCC early diagnosis as well as differential diagnosis from liver fibrosis/cirrhosis. In a total sample of 247 patients with hepatitis B virus-related liver disease, we characterized and compared the serum N-glycans in very early/early and intermediate/advanced stages of HCC and those with liver fibrosis/cirrhosis.

In this study, we set out from the cellular interaction to further explain the molecular mechanism of invasion in GC cells under hypoxic conditions.
Methods: Gastric cancer cells were cultured under 1% O (hypoxia-cultured gastric cancer cells, HGC) and 20% O condition (normoxic-cultured gastric cancer cells, NGC).
Introduction: As most patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) develop progressive disease after treatment with osimertinib, it is important to develop more effective treatment options. Afatinib has been shown to be more effective in in vitro studies than osimertinib when used in cancer cell lines containing some specific EGFR mutations. Therefore, afatinib may be an effective solution, especially when used in combination with an anti-VEGF agent such as bevacizumab.

The solid dispersions of EFH were prepared by solvent evaporation method with HPMC-AS as matrix and urea as a pH adjusting agent. The paddle method, the open-loop, and the closed-loop flow-through cell methods were studied.

Paclitaxel is a common chemotherapeutic drug and has recently been shown to facilitate tumor cell escape during cytotoxic chemotherapy by inducing inflammatory mediators and pro-survival protein expression. Hyperoside is a flavonoid glycoside compound and exerts anti-inflammation, and anti-tumor growth properties.

However, the underlying mechanism of these functional ncRNAs in colorectal cancer (CRC) has not been well investigated.
Methods: The dysregulated expression profiling of lncRNAs-snoRNAs-mRNAs and their correlations and co-expression enrichment were assessed by GeneChip microarray analysis.
Purpose: To investigate the short-term intraocular pressure-lowering efficacy and safety of switching from a fixed combination of latanoprost/timolol to a fixed combination of latanoprost/carteolol.
Patients And Methods: The subjects were 30 eyes of 30 adult patients with primary open-angle glaucoma, normal-tension glaucoma, or ocular hypertension who were using a latanoprost-/timolol-fixed combination with insufficient intraocular pressure-lowering efficacy or adverse reactions. The subjects were switched from once-daily latanoprost/timolol to once-daily latanoprost/carteolol with no washout interval.
Objective To investigate whether the recombinant pyrin domain protein can alleviate the airway inflammation and airway remodeling of OVA-induced mice with chronic asthma by inhibiting transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1)/SMAD and Jagged1/Notch1 signaling pathways. Methods Thirty-two male BALB/c mice were selected and divided into 4 groups with 8 mice in each group. The four groups were the control group, OVA model group, recombinant pyrin domain protein treatment group (100 μg/kg), and the dexamethasone treatment group (1 mg/kg).

While fluorescent probes for GSTs have often adopted the 2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfonyl (DNs) group as the receptor unit, they usually suffer from considerable background reaction noise with GSH due to excessive electron deficiency. However, weakening this reactivity is generally accompanied by loss of sensitivity for GSTs, and therefore, finely turning down the reactivity while maintaining certain sensitivity is critical for developing a practical probe.

In particular, the role of non-thermal electrons needs further investigation in order to gain a fundamental understanding of photoinduced demagnetization and remagnetization on a femtosecond time scale. We experimentally demonstrate that non-thermal electrons existing in the very early phase of the photoinduced demagnetization process play a key role in governing the overall ultrafast spin dynamics behavior.

Here we show that MOB2 functions as a tumor suppressor in glioblastoma (GBM). Analysis of MOB2 expression in glioma patient specimens and bioinformatic analyses of public datasets revealed that MOB2 was downregulated at both mRNA and protein levels in GBM.

In this study, we showed that CPEΔN may accelerate lung cancer invasion via an E-cadherin-dependent mechanism. experiments and bioluminescence imaging assay revealed CPEΔN promoted the mobility and invasion of human lung cancer cells by suppressing endogenous expression of E-cadherin, a critical regulator for epithelial tissue homeostasis.

F-box protein is the core component of the SKP1-cullin 1-F-box (SCF)-type E3 ubiquitin ligase and directly binds to substrates by various specific domains. According to the specific domains, F-box proteins are further classified into three sub-families: 1) F-box with leucine rich amino acid repeats (FBXL); 2) F-box with WD 40 amino acid repeats (FBXW); 3) F-box only with uncharacterized domains (FBXO).

Background: Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) can increase populations of myeloid-derived suppressor cells, innate immune suppressors that play an immunoregulatory role in antitumor immunity. However, the roles of myeloid-derived suppressor cells and G-CSF in renal ischemia-reperfusion injury remain unclear.
Methods: We used mouse models of ischemia-reperfusion injury to investigate whether G-CSF can attenuate renal injury by increasing infiltration of myeloid-derived suppressor cells into kidney tissue.
