In the context of products from certain regions or countries being banned because of an identified or non-identified hazard, proof of geographical origin is essential with regard to feed and food safety issues. Usually, the product labeling of an affected feed lot shows origin, and the paper documentation shows traceability. Incorrect product labeling is common in embargo situations, however, and alternative analytical strategies for controlling feed authenticity are therefore needed.

New technological developments include micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) technology, used in miniature handheld instruments such as the Polychromix Phazir spectrometer that are increasingly required for on-site analysis. The objective of this study was to assess the potential of a calibration transfer from the Foss NIRSystem 6500 to the Polychromix Phazir.

Study Design And Methods: A randomized, open-label, multicenter trial was carried out in patients with breast cancer, multiple myeloma, and lymphoma, in which patients were randomized to receive 5 or 10 microg per kg per day of filgrastim after standard chemotherapy to mobilize PBPCs. After high-dose chemotherapy, the components from the first two leukapheresis procedures were returned, and all patients received 5 microg per kg day of filgrastim after transplantation.
