Aim: Co-morbid personality disorder (PD) is associated with poorer outcomes in psychosis patients, but it is not known whether these patterns are present at illness onset. This study investigated the prevalence of co-morbid PD in clients of an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIPS) and compared key worker engagement and service use between patients with and without co-morbid PD.
Method: Forty-nine participants were recruited from an inner London NHS EIPS.
Objective: To assess the long term effect of United Kingdom legislation introduced in September 1998 to restrict pack sizes of paracetamol on deaths from paracetamol poisoning and liver unit activity.
Design: Interrupted time series analyses to assess mean quarterly changes from October 1998 to the end of 2009 relative to projected deaths without the legislation based on pre-legislation trends.
Setting: Mortality (1993-2009) and liver unit activity (1995-2009) in England and Wales, using information from the Office for National Statistics and NHS Blood and Transplant, respectively.
Background: Graft availability remains a problem in pediatric intestinal transplantation (IT), with most children waiting being less than 10 kg weight. In November 2004, wait-listed children in the United Kingdom were prioritized nationally to receive pediatric donor organs to improve donor availability for IT. We aimed to evaluate the impact of this change on the recipient population.
