A consultation and work-up diagnosis protocol for a multicancer early detection test: a case series study.

The emergence of multicancer early detection (MCED) tests holds promise for improving early cancer detection and public health outcomes. However, positive MCED test results require confirmation through recommended cancer diagnostic imaging modalities. To address these challenges, we have developed a consultation and work-up protocol for definitive diagnostic results post MCED testing, named SPOT-MAS.

Ultrasound-Guided Sialendoscopy Surgery for Parotid Sialolithiasis Using Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG)-Holmium Laser: A Prospective Case Series.

Background: Parotid sialolithiasis is a common condition in middle-aged individuals, with most cases occurring in the submandibular and sublingual glands, followed by the parotid glands and minor salivary glands. The treatment of salivary gland stones, particularly those of the parotid glands, remains challenging. Endoscopic surgery using a yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG)-holmium laser for parotid sialolithiasis is a minimally invasive approach that provides effective treatment for patients.

Introduction: Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) arises in a number of epithelial tissues, including the stomach, salivary gland, lung, small bowel, thyroid, ocular adnexa, skin, and elsewhere. It has also been called low-grade B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT). MALT lymphoma predominantly occurs in adults and is rare in children.

Background: Laparoscopic surgery has brought about a revolution in clinical practice since its inception. Using a new generation three-dimensional (3D) HD laparoscopic system can be seen as a beneficial "hybrid" created by fusing two different elements: increased vision quality and the viability and diffusion of laparoscopy. This study aims to determine the surgical outcomes and two-year survival of colorectal cancer patients after 3D laparoscopic surgery.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Treatment of Operculoinsular Refractory Epilepsy After Incomplete Resection in a Child.

A 13-year-old right-handed girl had operculoinsular refractory epilepsy with several seizures per week after temporal lobe epilepsy surgery despite appropriate anticonvulsant therapy. Instead of reoperation, she underwent stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), which was performed using a linac-based Elekta Axesse SRS machine with a marginal dose of 24 Gy (gross target volume: 6.67 cm) in one fraction.

The prevalence of perceived stigma and self-blame and their associations with depression, emotional well-being and social well-being among advanced cancer patients: evidence from the APPROACH cross-sectional study in Vietnam.

Background: There is very limited evidence on the existence of cancer-related perceived stigma and self-blame among patients with advanced cancer in Asia, and how they are associated with psychosocial outcomes. This study aimed to address the gap in the current literature by (1) assessing perceived stigma, behavioural self-blame and characterological self-blame among Vietnamese patients with advanced cancer, and (2) investigating the associations of perceived stigma and self-blame (behavioural and characterological) with depression, emotional well-being and social well-being.

Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 200 Vietnamese patients with stage IV solid cancer.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively examined data of 58 patients who underwent hepatectomy with Takasaki's technique using Sonastar ultrasonic aspiration system at Hue Central Hospital from 01/2018 to 02/2021.

Purpose: Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is an important construct in clinical settings, and it is crucial that it should be properly measured. As the EuroQol-5-dimensions-5 levels (EQ-5D-5L) is more effective for such measurement than the 3-level model, data on economic models, clinical studies, and public health evaluations previously collected through the EQ-5D-3L need to be revaluated using the EQ-5D-5L. This study evaluated colorectal cancer (CRC) patients' HRQoL scores using the Vietnamese EQ-5D-5L value set.

Volume-Staged Radiosurgery for Large Arteriovenous Malformation.

Large arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are challenges in management because of outcomes and adverse affects. Volume-staged radiosurgery has been an appropriate approach when removal resection and embolization are not recommended. A 53-year-old gentleman was diagnosed with a large intracranial AVM with persistent headache and short-term seizure.

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) embolization is considered as a promising option either its single treatment or in combination with surgery, and the use of low-density N-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA)/Lipiodol is acceptable mixture agents but its application should be performed by experienced endovascular teams. We describe a successful case preoperative embolization of high-flow AVMs with low-density NBCA/Lipiodol. A 26-year-old male patient was hospitalized with a big pulsatile mass at the right thigh.

Transanal one-stage endorectal pull-through for Hirschsprung disease: experiences with 51 newborn patients.

Introduction: Transanal one-stage endorectal pull-through (TOSEPT) has been presented as the most recent progression in the treatment of Hirschsprung's disease (HD), which may be able to replace various previous techniques. This prospective study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and probable complications of this procedure in management of newborns with HD.
