Ecosystem service value in the context of urbanization: Comparison among economic-social regions of Vietnam.

Urbanization is one of the important features of socio-economic development and it has a major impact on the value of ecosystem services (ESV). This study aims to quantify ESV for the entire country of Vietnam with the research unit being 6 socio-economic regions. This can be considered the first study in Vietnam to quantify the ESV for the entire country.

Seasonal Formation of Low-Sorbing Methylthiolated Arsenates Induces Arsenic Mobilization in a Minerotrophic Peatland.

Peatlands are known sinks for arsenic (As). In the present study, seasonal As mobilization was observed in an acidic, minerotrophic peatland (called Lehstenbach) in late summer, accompanied by a peak in dissolved sulfide (S(-II)). Arsenic speciation revealed the lowest seasonal porewater concentrations of arsenite and arsenate, likely due to As(III)-S-bridging to natural organic matter.

Autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell infusion for liver cirrhosis after the Kasai operation in children with biliary atresia.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and early outcomes of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell (BMMNC) infusion for liver cirrhosis due to biliary atresia (BA) after Kasai operation.

Methods: An open-label clinical trial was performed from January 2017 to December 2019. Nineteen children with liver cirrhosis due to BA after Kasai operation were included.

Functional manganese ferrite/graphene oxide nanocomposites: effects of graphene oxide on the adsorption mechanisms of organic MB dye and inorganic As(v) ions from aqueous solution.

In this study, manganese ferrite-graphene oxide (MFO-GO) nanocomposites were prepared a co-precipitation reaction of Fe and Mn ions in a GO suspension. The effects of graphene oxide on the physicochemical characteristics, magnetic properties and adsorption activities of the MFO-GO nanocomposites were studied. Methylene blue (MB) and arsenic(v) were used in this study as model water pollutants.
