: Early detection of elderly patients with COVID-19 who are at high risk of mortality is vital for appropriate clinical decisions. We aimed to evaluate the risk factors associated with all-cause in-hospital mortality among elderly patients with COVID-19. : In this retrospective study, the medical records of elderly patients aged over 60 who were hospitalized with COVID-19 at Thammasat University Hospital from 1 July to 30 September 2021 were reviewed.

Dermoscopic images of pigmented lesions have distinct features on the sole where skin ridges and furrows exist. Pigmentation of benign nevus usually locates on the skin furrow, while the malignant melanoma is pigmented on the skin ridge. Correspondence between dermoscopy and pathology in the pigmented lesions on soles have been studied based on conventional vertical pathological images.

In psoriasis, CD8CD103 memory T cells residing in the epidermis represent an effector population capable of maintaining the condition and driving a recurrence of the disease. Tissue-infiltrating CD8 T cells expressing PD-1 are regarded as antigen-primed effector cells in others chronic inflammatory diseases. However, the expression and significance of PD-1 on skin-infiltrating CD8 T cells in human psoriasis is not known.

Tissue resident memory T (T) cells reside in peripheral, non-lymphoid tissues such as the skin, where they act as alarm-sensor cells or cytotoxic cells. Physiologically, skin T cells persist for a long term and can be reactivated upon reinfection with the same antigen, thus serving as peripheral sentinels in the immune surveillance network. CD8CD69CD103 T cells are the well-characterized subtype that develops in the epidermis.

Suprabasin (SBSN) is expressed not only in epidermis but also in epithelial cells of the upper digestive tract where metals such as nickel are absorbed. We have recently shown that SBSN level is decreased in the stratum corneum and serum of atopic dermatitis (AD) patients, especially in intrinsic AD, which is characterized by metal allergy. By using SBSN-null (Sbsn) mice, this study was conducted to investigate the outcome of SBSN deficiency in relation to AD.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) patients have a barrier disorder in association with Th2 dominant skin inflammation. Galectin-7 (Gal-7), a soluble unglycosylated lectin, is highly expressed in the stratum corneum of AD patients. However, the biological significance of increased Gal-7 expression in AD skin lesions remains unclear.

Background: The active ingredients in sunscreen products are ultraviolet (UV) filters, many of which are known potential allergens. The use of sunscreen in younger children and individuals with sensitive skin requires special attention, since absorption and allergen sensitization are of concern.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the ultraviolet filters in sunscreen products labeled specifically for "kids" or as "sensitive/hypoallergenic" and compare these to general sunscreen products.

Background: Suprabasin (SBSN), a secreted protein, is expressed in various epithelial tissues. The role of SBSN in epidermal differentiation and atopic dermatitis (AD) pathology remains largely unknown.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of SBSN on epidermal keratinocytes and its role in AD.

Background: A number of studies have shown the relationship between the pathogenesis of psoriasis and skin resident memory T (T) cells.

Objective: To investigate the cytokine profile of T cells from skin lesions of psoriasis and the relationship of skin T cells to the future clinical course of psoriasis.

Methods: We used stocked samples of T cells that were ex vivo expanded from skin biopsies of 10 patients with psoriasis vulgaris.
