This study explored how adding hydroxyapatite and silica aerogel nanoparticles affects the properties of epoxy resin, particularly focusing on density, tensile strength, and impact resistance.
It utilized Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Box-Behnken Design (BBD) to analyze the combined effects of the two materials, revealing optimal compositions for improved mechanical performance.
Results showed that the optimal addition of hydroxyapatite (2.38 wt%) and silica aerogels (4 wt%) maximized tensile strength and impact resistance, while also reducing the density of the epoxy composites.
