E-hypovitaminosis-induced antioxidant deficiency in rats causes changes in some properties of nuclear structures of the liver cells, i.e. fractions of transcriptionally active and repressed chromatin and nuclear matrix.

It was shown that the exogenous 3H-melatonin is metabolizing rapidly and the products of its metabolism are spreading all over the organism. The exogenous 3H-melatonin may be accumulating in the separate endocrine and non-endocrine cells of the different organs.

It is shown that in acute myocardial infarction the liver shows simultaneously dyscirculatory, destructive and compensatory-adaptative processes develop. Imbalance of histoenzymatic processes develops at early stages of acute myocardial infarction influencing the mechanisms of compensation and reparation.

The patients died of acute and repeat myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease. The changes were manifested in association of disordered circulatory, destructive and compensatory-adaptative processes that are the background of conduction and rhythm disorders and depending on the degree of circulatory and metabolic disturbances in the contractile myocardium.

The use of the adsorption chromatography on the hydroxyl apatite makes it possible to yield and partly purify the triton X-100-solubilized mitochondrial protein fraction of the rat liver able to bind specifically [3H]-alpha-tocopherol. The method permits removing simultaneously both free detergent and [3H]-alpha-tocopherol from the protein mixture without disturbance of the established equilibrium. When compared with methods used for the removal of free hydrophobic ligands in the in vitro binding experiments, the applied method is the most effective.

Rheologic parameters of the blood were examined in 17 patients with necrobiosis lipoidica before and over the course of trental (pentoxyphyllin) therapy. The study has revealed an unchanged hematocrit in the presence of significantly increased blood viscosity, red cell aggregation and stability of red cell aggregates. Another finding was a deterioration of the red cell deformability; red cell mechanical resistance was found liable to alter.

Basing on the results of assessment of complement-dependent cytotoxicity against lymphocytes from the lymph nodes of BDF1 mice a conclusion was made that MCA immunological reactivity changed slightly after radionuclide tracer administration. In vitro experiments with a panel of normal and malignant cells showed 131I-MCA binding with cells of mouse lymphoid leukemia L1210 and hemocytoblastosis La as well as with spleen and lymph node normal lymphocytes.

It was shown that in most of the patients (60%) MC were poorly inhibited by PS whereas the rest of the patients (40%) demonstrated in vitro sensitivity compared to that of the donors and even higher in some cases. Thus, the group of SLE patients showing clinical resistance to GC action was inhomogeneous in sensitivity of their MC to PS; only some patients showed resistance associated with the properties of the MC system.
