Background: COVID-19 disease has infected more than 772 million people, leading to 7 million deaths. Although the severe course of COVID-19 can be prevented using appropriate treatments, effective interventions require a thorough research of the genetic factors involved in its pathogenesis.
Methods: We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on 7,124 individuals (comprising 6,400 controls who had mild to moderate COVID-19 and 724 cases with severe COVID-19).
Unlabelled: Currently, severe combined abdominal trauma ranks third among all causes of mortality In Russia, second only to cardiovascular and oncologic diseases. In the period from 2019 to 2020 in our country, a slight decrease in traumatism is noted due to a decrease in the number of traffic accidents as the main cause of combined and multiple trauma. The number of abdominal injuries from the total number of injuries In Russian regions ranges from 1.

Material And Methods: One hundred and forty-six patients with FNN of various etiologies with muscles hypertonicity of the healthy side or the risk of its development were studied. The term of treatment was 33 [10; 99] days.
Malignant lesions of tracheal bifurcation usually lead to respiratory failure and risk of mortality. Airway stenting is the only minimally invasive method for these patients. The authors present a patient with T4N3M0 left-sided lung cancer (inoperable stage IIIc) complicated by respiratory failure due to tracheal bifurcation obstruction.

Material And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 260 ICU patients with dysphagia associated with neurological disorders between 2010 and 2020. All patients were divided into two groups: the main group (=50) - percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy with gastropexy, control group (=210) - surgery without fixing the anterior wall of the stomach to the abdominal wall.

Objective: To analyze the diagnosis, treatment and rehabiltation of patients with marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve (MMB).
Material And Methods: We have collected 6 patients (mean age 40 [33.8; 44] years) with isolated lesion of MMB that innervates the depressor labii inferioris and chin muscle.
Aim: To evaluate dynamic changes in the lungs, hemostasis system, immune system in different terms after coronavirus pneumonia.
Materials And Methods: Ventilation-perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (CT), functional methods of lung investigation, evaluation of hemostasis system, immune status and specific humoral immune response were performed and evaluated in different terms after coronavirus pneumonia. A total of 71 patients were examined according to this protocol.
The severe course of COVID-19 requires treatment in emergency and intensive care units. Acute respiratory failure due to the development of pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome is the most common and life-threatening manifestation of the new coronavirus infection. Treatment of patients with severe and extremely severe COVID-19; the use of modern schemes and protocols for drug therapy, mechanical ventilation, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation; sorption techniques; the use of thermal helium; hemostasis correction; and rehabilitation problems are discussed.

A total of 319 genomic DNA samples from patients with varying degrees of disease severity and 78 control DNA samples from people who had regular or prolonged contact with patients with COVID-19 but did not have clinical manifestations and/or antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. Seven SNPs were identified that were statistically associated with disease risk or severe course, rs1799864 in the gene (OR = 2.

Material And Methods: A multicenter observational clinical study «REspiratory Therapy for Acute Stroke» (RETAS) was conducted under the aegis of the «Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists» (FAR). The study involved 14 clinical centers and included 1289 stroke patients with respiratory support.
COVID-19 pandemic has posed a severe healthcare challenge calling for an integrated approach in determining the clues for early non-invasive diagnostics of the potentially severe cases and efficient patient stratification. Here we analyze the clinical, laboratory and CT scan characteristics associated with high risk of COVID-19-related death outcome in the cohort of severely-ill patients in Russia. The data obtained reveal that elevated dead lymphocyte counts, decreased early apoptotic lymphocytes, decreased CD14+/HLA-Dr+ monocytes, increased expression of JNK in PBMCs, elevated IL-17 and decreased PAI-1 serum levels are associated with a high risk of COVID-19-related mortality thus suggesting them to be new prognostic factors.

Our objectives were to assess the prevalence and the association between the timing of tracheostomy (during or after ECMO weaning) and related complications, sedative, and analgesic use.
Methods: International, multicenter, retrospective study in four large volume ECMO centers during a 9-year period.
The use of electrochemical methods to study living systems, including cells, has been of interest to researchers for a long time. Thus, controlling the polarization of the electrode contacting living cells, one can influence, for example, their proliferation or the synthesis of specific proteins. Moreover, the electrochemical approach formed the basis of the biocompatibility improvement of the materials contacting with body tissues that use in carbon hemosorbents and implants development.

Persons were divided into the following three groups depending on the severity of the poisoning: I: This group consisted of 9 persons (blood thallium level 8.
Clinical trials of thermoheliox application (inhalation with a high-temperature mixture of oxygen and helium, 90 °C) in the treatment of the acute phase of coronavirus infection were conducted. Dynamics of disease development in infected patients (PCR test for the virus) and, dynamics of changes in blood concentration of C-reactive protein, immunoglobulin M, specific immunoglobulin G were studied. High efficiency of thermoheliox in releasing the organism from the virus and stimulating the immune response (thermovaccination effect) was shown.

Rehabilitation of patients after focal brain lesions is one of the topical issues of modern medicine. Motor disorders are known to develop in more than 80% of survivors of stroke and traumatic brain injury and be one of the main causes of disability, which necessitates an active search for new effective techniques for correction of motor disorders. Modern rehabilitation includes both traditional techniques for recovery of patients with motor deficit (exercise therapy and physiotherapy) and botulinum therapy, kinesiotherapy, mechanotherapy, etc.
