Introduction: Antibody mediated rejection is the leading cause of kidney transplant failure. Not all antibodies are harmful and some may be protective. Immunoglulin Gs, of which there are four subtypes, are detected by single antigen bead testing.

Introduction: Single antigen bead testing (SAB) for HLA-specific antibody enables efficient organ allocation and aids in the diagnosis of antibody mediated rejection. In this retrospective cohort study, a population of kidney transplant recipients possessing HLA Class I antibodies was used to evaluate the best method for resolving complement interference, the so called "prozone" effect. The aim was to compare the use of EDTA versus a Biotin-Streptavidin Complex as methodological approaches for abating the prozone effect using a fixed 1 in 10 dilution as validation.

Background And Study Aims:  Investigations for lower gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB) include flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, computed tomographic angiography (CTA), and angiography. All may be used to direct endoscopic, radiological or surgical treatment, although their optimal use is unknown. The aims of this study were to determine the diagnostic and therapeutic yields of endoscopy, CTA, and angiography for managing LGIB, and their influence on rebleeding, transfusion, and hospital stay.

Impact of intrapatient variability (IPV) in tacrolimus trough levels on long-term renal transplant function: multicentre collaborative retrospective cohort study protocol.

Introduction: High intrapatient variability (IPV) in tacrolimus trough levels has been shown to be associated with higher rates of renal transplant failure. There is no consensus on what level of IPV constitutes a risk of graft loss. The establishment of such a threshold could help to guide clinicians in identifying at-risk patients to receive targeted interventions to improve IPV and thus outcomes.
