The use of transthoracic echocardiography in caesarean section surgical patients in the intensive care unit: A retrospective cohort study.

Data regarding transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) application to obstetric patients are scant. Often, anaesthetists preparing for caesarean section are unaware of the proportion of obstetric patients who have relevant cardiac disease. This audit aimed at undertaking a retrospective analysis of TTE performed in intensive care unit patients after caesarean section.
