Bipolar disorder (BD) involves altered reward processing and decision-making, with inconsistencies across studies. Here, we integrated hierarchical Bayesian modelling with magnetoencephalography (MEG) to characterise maladaptive belief updating in this condition. First, we determined if previously reported increased learning rates in BD stem from a heightened expectation of environmental changes.

[Psychopharmacotherapy of mixed affective states in bipolar disorder].

On the example of a patient with a mixed affective episode within the framework of bipolar affective disorder, the clinical features of this psychopathological condition, the difficulties of diagnosis and selection of therapy in mixed states are presented. The use of the modern atypical antipsychotic ziprasidone in this category of patients is argued.

Psychosomatic disorders make a great contribution to the structure of reproductive health disorders in women. The purpose of this review was to analyze the available data on effective methods of therapy for psychosomatic disorders associated with the reproductive cycle of women - psychopharmacological, psychotherapeutic, non-drug biological, hormonal. The review summarizes the evidence in relation to the treatment of disorders such as: stress-related menstrual irregularities; premenstrual dysphoric disorder; perinatal affective disorders (especially depression); psychosomatic disorders of the involutionary period.

[A role of neurosteroids in the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders].

Despite the proven importance of neurosteroids in many physiological processes, their role in the pathogenesis of the most of psychiatric disorders remains relatively understudied. This article reviews the current clinical evidence on the effects of neurosteroids on the formation and treatment of anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. In particular, the article points out the ambivalent nature of the effects of neurosteroids on GABA- and other receptors.

Recognition of Facial Emotion Expressions in Patients with Depressive Disorders: A Prospective, Observational Study.

Introduction: Processing of emotional stimuli is altered in patients with depression. The present feasibility study investigated the features of emotional information recognition in people with depressive disorders and how these differ from individuals without depression to determine whether response times could potentially be used as a diagnostic marker to identify individuals at high risk of depression and as an indicator of antidepressant medication response.

Methods: The study recruited 32 individuals, 16 with single or recurrent depressive episodes and 16 control subjects without depression.

[Modern concepts about insomnia in mental disorders: clinical aspects].

[A computer study of the relationship between the value and type of their embryotoxicity and the structure of synthetic analogs of biogenic amines].

We calculated 219 topological, electronic, and steric indices for each of 59 studied embryotoxic benzylalkylamines and indolamines. Statistically significant equations correlating embryotoxicity and five calculated parameters were obtained using the method of step multiple regression. The prognostic power of the equation was 88-90%.
