Objectives: To evaluate the spontaneous eruption potential of impacted human permanent teeth localized in the anterior part of the maxilla, after the surgical extraction of obstacles in their eruption pathway, by means of a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Materials And Methods: A systematic literature search was carried out to locate studies reporting on the percentage of anterior permanent teeth erupting after surgical removal of the obstacle, without other interventions. Eruption potential of impacted teeth was calculated using a random-effects meta-analysis.
Although coronary artery bypass surgery has provided major advances in the treatment of coronary artery disease, narrowing of bypass vessels still constitutes a drawback of this therapy. Although this event is most frequently caused by intraluminal processes, obstruction from external structures is extremely rare. We report such a case in which external bypass compression was provoked by deep inspiration causing typical anginal symptoms.

Given doses were 66.6 to 72 Gy.

One of the factors that could influence the high rate of locoregional persistence is hypoxia. Hypoxic cancers are known to be more aggressive and less responsive to chemo- and radiotherapy.

Therefore, if organ motion is present during collimator movement, the resulting dose distribution in wedge direction may differ from that obtained for the static case, i.e.

The femoral stem was not shielded during radiotherapy (RT). After a median follow-up of 14.

Methods And Materials: From a total of 89 patients with macroinvasive adenomas, 66 received radiation therapy immediately following subtotal surgical removal (combined treatment modality), and 22 were irradiated as primary treatment or after surgical recurrence.

Despite the almost complete disappearance of the so called "postperfusion lung syndrome" after cardiac surgery with extracorporeal circulation (ECC), there is still a need for respiratory treatment in some cases, primarily for cardio-circulatory or respiratory reasons. In addition postoperative artificial ventilation is provided routinely in many centers for at least a few hours, until stabilization of cardio-circulatory and metabolic state is achieved. In 4 groups (I-IV) with a total of 659 patients (18 to 72 years old) undergoing open cardiac surgery for acquired heart disease (I: aortic valve, II: mitral valve, III: multivalvular disease, IV: coronary artery disease) postoperative cardio-circulatory and pulmonary complication rate, duration of artificial ventilation needed, PaO2 and some influencing factors have been evaluated.

It gives additional information about lymphatic metastases. This examination is of great value for prognosis and therapy in cases of breast cancer.

The diagnostic value of clinical information, blood examinations, 99mTc scintiscan, and laparoscopy for the diagnosis of the liver metastases was evaluated. Clinical data (age, sex, time since onset of symptoms and localisation of primary tumor) are of no diagnostic value.

To evaluate the presence or absence of hepatic metastases or primary hepatoma 106 patients were examined by liver scintigram as well as laparoscopy or laparotomy. A definite diagnosis was established in all patients by histology, autopsy or observation of clinical course for at least one year. Only scintigrams resulted in false positive diagnosis (in 5%).
