Healthcare services and products are rapidly changing due to the development of new technologies, offering relevant solutions to improve patient outcomes. Patient-Generated Health Data and knowledge-sharing across the European Union (EU) has a great potential of making healthcare provision more effective and efficient by putting the patient at the centre of the healthcare process. While such initiatives have been taken before, a uniting and overarching approach is still missing.

The novel compound with the sum formula Rb[Li Si O ] crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcm (no. 57) with a=7.

One of the main levers for further improvements are the conversion phosphors. The system Ca Sr AlSiN :Eu currently provides one of the most important red-emitting phosphors for pc-LEDs.

Herein, a new phosphor belonging to the substance class of alkali metal lithosilicates with the generalized sum formula Cs Rb Na Li [Li SiO ] :Eu is reported. Single crystals of the cyan-emitting UCr C -type phosphor show a peculiar double-band luminescence with one ultranarrow emission band at 473 nm and a narrow emission band at 531 nm under excitation with UV light (λ =408 nm).

To achieve this, the oxygen content of the reaction mixture is increased, thereby prohibiting the oxygen/nitrogen ordering observed in SALON. The resulting compound is isotypic to UCrC and exhibits mixed oxygen/nitrogen and lithium/aluminum sites.

As the primary blue diode is already highly optimized, the conversion phosphors are of crucial importance for any further improvements. We report on the discovery of the high performance red phosphor Sr[LiAlON]:Eu meeting all requirements for a phosphor's optical properties.

LaVSeO and LaVSeO adopt known structure types, whereas LaVSeO, LaVSeO, and LaVSeO crystallize in hitherto unknown structure types. The main building blocks of these compounds are chains of edge-sharing VSe, VSeO, and/or VSeO octahedra, linked together by edge-sharing OLa and/or OLaV tetrahedra forming fluorite-like ribbons.

The magnetic structure of LaCrSeO was solved and refined from neutron powder diffraction data. Main building blocks are chains of edge-sharing CrSeO octahedra linked together by two edge-sharing ORECr tetrahedra forming infinite ribbons.

Anthocyanins, highly abundant in bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus), were shown to have antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects. We aimed to explore the therapeutic potential of bilberries in active UC.

During the early stage of the Maillard reaction pyrazinium radical cations were detected by ESR within the reaction system d-glucose/glycine. The spectra were characterized by completely resolved hyperfine structure. The partial pressure of oxygen and the radical concentrations were measured directly in the reaction mixture by ESR using solutions of the spin probe TEMPOL and of DPPH, respectively.

Increased NO production is associated with many disorders including esophageal cancer. Previous studies in our laboratory demonstrated an association between increased iNOS expression and the development of N-nitrosomethylbenzylamine (NMBA)-induced tumors in the rat esophagus.
