Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune disease that may involve any organ in the body. Inflammation of the bowel wall as a presenting symptom of SLE is uncommon and can lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment. Here, we discuss the case of an adolescent male who presented with weight loss, intermittent fevers, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Introduction: To date, no international guidelines have been published for the treatment of paediatric functional abdominal pain disorders (FAPDs), subcategorised into functional abdominal pain-not otherwise specified (FAP-NOS), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia and abdominal migraine (AM). We aim for a treatment guideline, focusing on FAP-NOS, IBS and AM, that appreciates the extensive array of available therapies in this field. We present the prospective operating procedure and technical summary protocol in this manuscript.

Background: Gastroenterologists may hold less positive attitudes toward disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI) like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) compared with organic GI disorders like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This contributes to worse health outcomes in patients with DGBI and decreased patient satisfaction. Medical student knowledge and perception of these two disorders have not been directly studied.

Objectives: Social disruption due to COVID-19 has detrimentally affected American adolescents' emotional well-being. Within our system, pediatric acetaminophen ingestions increased in 2020, compared with previous years. We sought to evaluate the rate of hospitalizations for acetaminophen self-harm ingestions and self-harm of adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) is an inherited primary immunodeficiency that usually manifests clinically with recurrent sinopulmonary infections. Gastrointestinal manifestations are mostly driven by acute infections and disturbed mucosal immunity, but there is a notable prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Differentiating between XLA-associated enteritis, which can originate from recurrent infections, and IBD can be diagnostically and therapeutically challenging.

The high comorbidity of psychological disorders in both functional and organic gastrointestinal diseases suggests the intimate and complex link between the brain and the gut. Termed the brain-gut axis, this bidirectional communication between the central nervous system and enteric nervous system relies on immune, endocrine, neural, and metabolic pathways. There is increasing evidence that the gut microbiome is a key part of this system, and dysregulation of the brain-gut-microbiome axis (BGMA) has been implicated in disorders of brain-gut interaction, including irritable bowel syndrome, and in neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, Alzheimer's disease, and autism spectrum disorder.

Introduction: Even if they represent only 2.5 % of the total body surface area, the hands are burnt in 50 % of hospitalized patients. The risk of sequelae is significant, especially in children, human being in full growth, and a source of aesthetic and functional handicap.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may lead to a severe inflammatory response referred to as a cytokine storm. We describe a case of severe COVID-19 infection in a recently diagnosed pediatric Crohn disease patient successfully treated with tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) blockade. The patient presented with 5 days of fever, an erythematous maculopapular facial rash, and abdominal pain without respiratory symptoms.

Women with breast cancer are increasingly being cured of the disease but fatigue remains the most frequently reported symptom. The aims of our study were to identify distinct trajectories in four fatigue dimensions during 2 years after breast cancer surgery and to explore the demographic, clinical and personality characteristics associated with these profiles. We included women from the prospective longitudinal multicenter FATSEIN cohort in France.

Purpose Of Review: The purpose of this review is to discuss current knowledge of brain-gut therapies (BGT) in pediatric functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including their evidence base, the common psychopathology that they address, and the integration of this knowledge into medical settings.

Recent Findings: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy (HT), mindfulness-based therapy (MBT), and exposure-based therapy (EBT) have the most data supporting their use in children, particularly in FGID, more so than in IBD. This difference is most likely because of the increased role of psychological factors in FGID, though these same factors can be seen comorbidly in IBD.

Background: Umbilical necrosis is a well-known complication of abdominoplasty, the risk of this complication can be increased when an associated umbilical hernia requires further dissection in peri-umbilical region, potentially leading to umbilical devascularisation. Multiple minimally invasive open techniques were described to avoid this problem. The combined approach of abdominoplasty with laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair is one promising solution to avoid devascularising the umbilicus.

Splints are commonly used after primary cleft surgery in order to secure the position of the nasal cartilages. Although the importance of splints is more and more stressed in the literature, many questions remain unanswered relative to the psychological impact of this device on children and families. Two questionnaires, Information and Tolerance, were used in order to measure the quality of life (QoL) associated with the use of nasal splints after primary cleft surgery.

Background: Brachioradial pruritus is a rare form of pruritus localised to one or more brachioradial dermatomes, initially classified as a photodermatosis but which in fact is generally brought on by nervous compression. We report a case of a brachioradial pruritus revealing an intramedullary tumour.

Patients And Methods: A 53-year-old man had presented pruritus for seven years under the left clavicle, then on the left forearm followed by the right forearm.

Perineal neuralgias may be considered as nerve entrapment syndromes, which have been anatomically poorly studied. The pudendal nerve could be compressed between the sacrospinal and the sacrotuberal ligaments. This study tries to find a correlation between the pelvis and the lumbosacral junction morphometry, and sacrospinal and sacrotuberal ligaments morphometry.

A 74-year-old man had acute complete dysphagia due to esophageal compression cause by a degenerative osteophye on C4-C5. Functional improvement was immediate after surgical removal of the osteophyte via an anterior cervical approach. Reports in the literature show that vertebral hypertrophic spurs causing dysphagia result from bony degeneration or idiopathic causes (diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperosteosis: DISH).

Fotemustine is a third-generation nitrosourea characterized by a phosphoalanine carrier group grafted onto the nitrosourea radical, which gives it a high lipophilicity and a better penetration through the cell membrane. Between September 1988 and December 1997, 22 patients with inoperable or incompletely resected recurrent high-grade gliomas of the brain were treated at the University Hospital in Brest (France). Treatment consisted of three weekly infusions of fotemustine (100 mg/m2 days 1, 8 and 15).
