Standard Ergonomic Risk Assessment (ERA) from video analysis is a highly time-consuming activity and is affected by the subjectivity of ergonomists. Motion Capture (MOCAP) addresses these limitations by allowing objective ERA. Here a depth camera, one of the most commonly used MOCAP systems for ERA (i.

We evidenced tissue-specific patterns, with the brain exhibiting a distinct FA composition from the liver and muscle. Ontogenetic stage and estuary influenced the general FA profile, and particularly the essential FA (EFA) like docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and arachidonic acid (ARA) in all tissues.

This research aimed to evaluate the suitability of the biopsy for FA analysis using two lipid extraction protocols and comparing them to a lethal routine method. The results showed that a mass of fresh tissue as low as 1.

Notably, under pathological conditions, the two factors have been shown to interact genetically, but both the molecular mechanisms underlying such interactions and their relevance under physiological conditions remain unclear. In mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) we manage to determine the specific subset of hypoxia-induced genes that need STAT3 to be properly transcribed and, among them, fundamental genes like Vegfa, Hk1, Hk2, Pfkp and Hilpda are worth mentioning.

In these industrial sites denominated "Seveso sites," the urgent need for an effective strategy emerged markedly to handle hazardous activities and to ensure safe conditions. Since then, the main challenging research issues have focused on how to prevent such accident events and how to mitigate their consequences leading to the development of many risk assessment methodologies.

Magnesium alloys are increasingly studied as materials for temporary implants. However, their high corrosion rate and susceptibility to corrosion-assisted cracking phenomena, such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC), continue to prevent their mainstream use. Recently, coatings have been considered to provide an effective solution to these issues and researchers have focused their attention on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD).

In this work, using zebrafish, we determined in vivo that mitochondrial STAT3 regulates mtDNA transcription in embryonic and larval stem cell niches and that this activity affects their proliferation rates. As a result, we demonstrated that import of STAT3 inside mitochondria requires Y705 phosphorylation by Jak, whereas its mitochondrial transcriptional activity, as well as its effect on proliferation, depends on the MAPK target S727.

Introduction: Data on the evolution of gastric precancerous lesions (GPL), especially in countries of a Low gastric cancer incidence area are limited. Our objective was to study a long-term evolution of GPL in France.
Methods: All the patients diagnosed with GPL (atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia [IM], and dysplasia) between 2000 and 2015 and fulfilling criteria for evolution assessment (at least 2 endoscopies, minimal follow-up of 6 months, and at least 2 biopsies obtained from the antrum and corpus) were included.
Magnesium and its alloys have been widely studied as materials for temporary implant devices. However, corrosion-assisted cracking phenomena such as stress corrosion cracking (SCC) continue to prevent their mainstream use. For the first time, we explore the SCC susceptibility of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) coated AZ31 alloys in Simulated Body Fluid (SBF).

However, prompt antibiotic therapy is recommended in patients with sepsis or septic shock, a possible presentation of infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN). Consequently, in many critically ill patients with IPN, pancreatic samples are collected only after broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy initiation.

These transgenic lines mimic Stat3 expression patterns and are responsive to exogenous Stat3; notably, fluorescence is inhibited by both knockout and IL6/Jak/STAT inhibitors. At larval stages, Stat3 reporter activity correlates with proliferating regions of the brain, haematopoietic tissue and intestine.

Stress Corrosion Cracking has been reported as one of the most critical failure modes to overcome to allow such materials to be clinically applied. Thus, in this paper we investigate the effect of Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) on the Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) susceptibility of the AZ31 Mg alloy.

Magnesium and its alloys have recently attracted great attention as potential materials for the manufacture of biodegradable implants. Unfortunately, their inadequate resistance to the simultaneous action of corrosion and mechanical stresses in the human body have hampered their use as implant materials. This work aims at evaluating the Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) susceptibility of the AZ31 Mg alloy after being machined under cryogenic cooling.

The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination and the Centre for Health Economics, both at the University of York, were commissioned as the independent evidence review group (ERG). The clinical-effectiveness data were from a multicentre randomised controlled trial that compared inotuzumab with standard of care (SoC), where SoC was the investigator's choice of chemotherapy.

MDS are caused by mutations in nuclear genes involved in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) maintenance, and characterized by both a strong reduction in mtDNA content and severe mitochondrial defects in affected tissues. Mutations in , a nuclear gene encoding a mitochondrial inner membrane protein, have been associated with hepatocerebral forms of MDS.

Among them, polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has gained wide interest in load-bearing applications due to its yielding behaviour and its superior corrosion resistance. To assure its reliability in these applications where notches and other stress concentrators weaken implants resistance, a design tool for assessing its tensile and fatigue behaviour in the presence of geometrical discontinuities is highly claimed.

Objectives: To systematically review the evidence on the diagnostic accuracy, clinical effectiveness and implementation of DySISmap and ZedScan as adjuncts to standard colposcopy, and to develop a cost-effectiveness model.
Methods: Four parallel systematic reviews were performed on diagnostic accuracy, clinical effectiveness issues, implementation and economic analyses.
Objective: The primary objective of this article is to identify risk factors for infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN) in patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for severe acute pancreatitis. We also described outcomes of IPN.
Background: Acute pancreatitis is common and associated with multiple, potentially life-threatening complications.
Ti-6Al-4V has been extensively used in structural applications in various engineering fields, from naval to automotive and from aerospace to biomedical. Structural applications are characterized by geometrical discontinuities such as notches, which are widely known to harmfully affect their tensile strength. In recent years, many attempts have been done to define solid criteria with which to reliably predict the tensile strength of materials.

Stress concentrators such as notches and geometrical discontinuities are present in many such components necessitating the reliable assessment of notch sensitivity of PEEK in monotonic tension. Here we evaluate the applicability of the strain energy density (SED) approach for the assessment of the fracture strength of experimentally tested notched geometries subject to corrosion.

Zn(O,S) buffer layer electronic configuration is determined by its composition and thickness, tunable through atomic layer deposition. The Zn K and L-edges in the X-ray absorption near edge structure verify ionicity and covalency changes with S content. A high intensity shoulder in the Zn K-edge indicates strong Zn 4s hybridized states and a preferred c-axis orientation.
