The Medical Segmentation Decathlon.

International challenges have become the de facto standard for comparative assessment of image analysis algorithms. Although segmentation is the most widely investigated medical image processing task, the various challenges have been organized to focus only on specific clinical tasks. We organized the Medical Segmentation Decathlon (MSD)-a biomedical image analysis challenge, in which algorithms compete in a multitude of both tasks and modalities to investigate the hypothesis that a method capable of performing well on multiple tasks will generalize well to a previously unseen task and potentially outperform a custom-designed solution.

Bone lesions on baseline staging rectal MRI: prevalence and significance in patients with rectal adenocarcinoma.

A T1 sequence on routine baseline staging rectal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is thought to help detect bone lesions. Our primary aim was to evaluate the incidence of bone lesions encountered on baseline staging rectal MRI, particularly the prevalence of bone metastases. This retrospective study included patients with rectal adenocarcinoma who underwent baseline rectal MRI at our institution between January 2010 and December 2017.

Pancreatobiliary Maljunction-associated Gallbladder Cancer Is as Common in the West, Shows Distinct Clinicopathologic Characteristics and Offers an Invaluable Model for Anatomy-induced Reflux-associated Physio-chemical Carcinogenesis.

Objective: To determine the associations of pancreatobiliary maljunction (PBM) in the West.

Background: PBM (anomalous union of common bile duct and pancreatic duct) is mostly regarded as an Asian-only disorder, with 200X risk of gallbladder cancer (GBc), attributed to reflux of pancreatic enzymes. Methods: Radiologic images of 840 patients in the US who underwent pancreatobiliary resections were reviewed for PBM and contrasted with 171 GBC cases from Japan.

Rare presentation of subcapsular hepatic steatosis in a woman with uncontrolled diabetes without peritoneal dialysis: a case report.

Background: Subcapsular hepatic steatosis is a rare atypical pattern of fatty deposition of the liver reported in patients with diabetic nephropathy receiving peritoneal dialysis with intraperitoneal insulin. To date, there has been only one pediatric and zero adult cases of subcapsular hepatic steatosis with no history of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. We report the first published case of subcapsular hepatic steatosis in an adult diabetic patient without any history of peritoneal dialysis or evidence of chronic renal disease.

[Treatment of male infertility after oncologic therapy: preventive autologous sperm preservation versus testicular biopsy and oocyte fertilization with testicular spermatozoa].

The prognosis of oncological therapy of some malignancies is favourable. Unfortunately the majority of young patients remain sterile. Sperm cryopreserved before treatment was successfully used in IVF-ICSI (in vitro fertilization-intracytoplasmic sperm injection) cycles.
