[Correction of neurovegetative and psychoemotional disorders in patients with post-castration syndrome by non-drug means].

Unlabelled: Due to decrease in life quality of gynecological oncology patients after completed radical antitumor treatment because of chemotherapy and radiation therapy consequences, pre- and postoperative stress, the development of post-castration syndrome, the problem of this contingent rehabilitation remains important. The methods of non-drug therapy, in particular, physical factors that have a multifaceted effect on the body and increase its resistance to adverse conditions are of interest. These factors include normobaric hypoxia which improves oxygen transport and tissue respiration, enhances detoxification processes, increases mental and physical performance, and increases the body's nonspecific resistance.

[The comprehensive approach to examination of female patients in diagnostic of benign diseases and breast cancer].

The integrated approach to diagnosis and dispensary monitoring of women with high risk for breast cancer, the active detection of combined pathology of endometrium are promising directions in prevention and timely diagnosis of breast and uterus malignant neoplasms. The study established that particular correction of measures of secondary prevention of breast cancer is needed, including formation of risk group and organization of dynamic monitoring of women with high risk of breast cancer development. The comprehensive examination of reproductive system organs, including evaluation of risk factors, combined use of mammography and sonography methods to examine mammary glands and condition of endometrium, can to increase accuracy of differential diagnosis and to avoid unneeded invasive interventions with mammary glands and early diagnosis of endometrial pathology.

Chronotype, sleep length, and school achievement of 11- to 23-year-old students in northern European Russia.

Residing at northern latitudes for long periods of time is associated with sleep disturbances and internal desynchronization, which are considered to be causes of chronic diseases in old age. In children and teenagers, they result in a poor school achievement, psychological problems, and increase in consumption of stimulants. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between both chronotype and sleep length and the variables of age, sex, place of residence, type of settlement (village/city), latitude and longitude of residence, and school achievement of young inhabitants of northern European Russia.

[Influence of light and electromagnetic radiation of Sun on circadian rhythms of the total antioxidant capacity of human saliva in the North].

The literature and results of own researches concerning the influence of climatic conditions of the North on human organism are analyzed in the paper. Experimental and clinical data are in accordance with a hypothesis of "circadian destruction" covering the mechanism of negative influence of factors of the North on human health. The model to describe the possible mechanism of action of electromagnetic radiations on circadian system of an organism is offered.

[EHF-therapy and IR radiation in combined treatment of children suffering from atopic dermatitis].

One hundred and 30 patients with atopic dermatitis were divided into three groups. The patients of group 1 (50 children) received EHF-IR therapy on biologically active points, the patients of group 2 (50 children) received EHF therapy alone, 30 children of group 3 received only chemotherapy. A comparison of the three methods of atopic dermatitis treatment revealed that EHF-IR therapy is superior to the rest treatments by both short- and long-term treatment outcomes.

[Biomonitoring of lymphocytes of workers exposed to nickel compounds and an approach to reduction of genetic effects].

While examining the workers of the fire nickel production contacting preferably with insoluble and weakly soluble compounds of nickel, inhibition of DNA repair and increased level of chromosome changes (micronucleus test) were detected. Decreasing of micronucleus number, which was higher in smokers, and tendency to the stimulation of DNA repair synthesis were revealed after 1-month course of ascorbic acid (1 g/day). A level of changes in chromosome structure in the control group was estimated using the index of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE): variation of initial values was in normal bounds (6-8 SCE per cell), after vitamin course it even slightly decreased.

Individual sensitivity to genotoxic effects of nickel and antimutagenic activity of ascorbic acid.

Cytotoxicity of nickel compounds was studied by stimulating the repair synthesis of DNA and counting lymphocyte micronuclei in workers of smelting shop of copper-nickel sulfide processing plant. Nickel content in the organism was evaluated by its concentrations in hair. Therapy with ascorbic acid (1 g/day for 1 month) led to a significant decrease in the number of micronuclei.

[Comparative od adaptive response to gamma-radiation and nickel sulfate treatment in human cells].

Increased viability of human cells (line rhabdomyosarcoma) to challenge doses of NiSO4 (10(-5)-10(-3) M) was formed when cells were preirradiated with low doses of gamma-radiation (10-14 cGy). Observed adaptive response was similar to radioadaptive response in human fibroblasts, pretreated with low doses of gamma-radiation and challenge dose of the same mutagen. Pretreatment with low concentration of NiSO4 induced in human fibroblasts increased resistance of DNA to the treatment with challenge doses of gamma-radiation and stimulated DNA repair synthesis after treatment with NiSO4 and 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide.
