A 31-year-old female patient with a previous history of Carney complex and surgical resection for cardiac myxoma and bilateral adrenalectomy at 18 years old and 10 and 11 years old, respectively, was referred to our department with a diagnosis of recurrent biatrial myxomas incidentally discovered on echography. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) confirmed the diagnosis of a tumor protruding into the left ventricle, and the patient underwent a surgical resection of a large left atrial mass and a right-sided atrial small tumor. Diagnosis of bilateral atrial myxomas was confirmed by histologic studies.

We aimed to evaluate an under-mattress detection tool (EMFIT®) in real-life hospital conditions, in particular its sensitivity and false alarm rate (FAR), as well as its impact on patient care.
Methods: We carried out a retrospective study on a cohort of patients with epilepsy admitted between September 2017 and June 2021 to Amiens University Hospital for a video-EEG of at least 24 h, during which at least one epileptic seizure was recorded.
Background: The aim of this study was to examine the methylation status of p16 promoter region in non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and their associations with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene, as well as with demographic or clinical characteristics.
Methods: Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE) DNA samples extracted from 22 NSCLC patients were analyzed with methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method to obtain promoter methylation profile. The same cohort was genotyped for - 216G > T, -191 C > A, and 181,946 C > T EGFR SNPs.
Background: The evolution of patients hospitalized with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still hard to predict, even after several months of dealing with the pandemic.
Aims: To develop and validate a score to predict outcomes in patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
Methods: All consecutive adults hospitalized for COVID-19 from February to April 2020 were included in a nationwide observational study.
NORSE (new onset refractory status epilepticus) has recently been defined as a clinical presentation, not a specific diagnosis, in a patient without active epilepsy or other preexisting relevant neurological disorder, with new onset of refractory status epilepticus without a clear acute or active structural, toxic or metabolic cause. It includes the concept of FIRES described in children with a similar condition but preceded by a 2-14-day febrile illness. NORSE constitutes the acute phase of an entity preceded by a prodromal phase which may be accompanied by numerous manifestations (febrile episode, behavioural changes, headache, …), and followed by a chronic phase marked by long-term neurological sequelae, cognitive impairment, epilepsy and functional disability.

However, VSRR procedures are generally performed in young patients and the long-term results in elderly patients (≥65 years) are scarce.
Methods: Fifty-six (56) consecutive patients underwent VSRR surgery by a single surgeon at the current centre between January 2006 and December 2013; a modified "remodelling technique" was typically performed.
Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to a public health crisis. Only limited data are available on the characteristics and outcomes of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in France.
Aims: To investigate the characteristics, cardiovascular complications and outcomes of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in France.
Background: Although cardiovascular comorbidities seem to be strongly associated with worse outcomes in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), data regarding patients with preexisting heart failure are limited.
Aims: To investigate the incidence, characteristics and clinical outcomes of patients with COVID-19 with a history of heart failure with preserved or reduced ejection fraction.
Methods: We performed an observational multicentre study including all patients hospitalized for COVID-19 across 24 centres in France from 26 February to 20 April 2020.
Objective: We aimed to test whether patients who died of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) had an abnormal cardiac autonomic response to sympathetic stimulation by hyperventilation.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective, observational, case-control study of a group of patients who died of SUDEP and controls who were matched to the patients for epilepsy type, drug resistance, sex, age at EEG recording, age at onset of epilepsy, and duration of epilepsy. We analyzed the heart rate (HR) and HR variability (HRV) at rest and during and after hyperventilation performed during the patient's last EEG recording before SUDEP.
Nowadays we have novel therapies for advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer. Immunotherapy has been introduced in the market for several years and until now its administration is mostly based on the programmed death-ligand 1. First line treatment with immunotherapy can be administered alone if programmed death-ligand 1 expression is ≥ 50%.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral infection caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which spreads rapidly from person to person and manifests in most symptomatic patients as a respiratory illness, similar to prior SARS viruses. Neurologic manifestations of COVID-19 are uncommon; those so far reported include encephalopathy, stroke from large-vessel occlusion, and polyneuropathy. We report a unique neurologic complication of COVID-19 in a patient who had extensive cerebral small-vessel ischemic lesions resembling cerebral vasculitis in a characteristic combined imaging pattern of ischemia, hemorrhage, and punctuate postcontrast enhancement.

There is a surge of interest by clinicians and the lay public to explore targeted bacteriotherapy to treat these dermatologic conditions. To date, skin microbiota transplantation studies have focused on moving single, enriched strains of bacteria to target sites rather than a whole community.

Atopic disorders are some of the migraine comorbidities. We hypothesized that allergic rhinitis could aggravate migraine in the pediatric population.

However, there are few studies regarding the use of resources and costs associated with treatment of lung cancer patients, not only in Serbia, but internationally. The aim of this paper was to assess the hospital costs of diagnosing and treating patients with stage IIIB and IV non-small cell lung cancer.

Patients And Methods: PD-1 and PD-L1 expression was determined using immunohistochemistry in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded surgical specimens and correlated with the clinicopathologic features and survival of 161 patients with lung adenocarcinoma.
Results: PD-1 expression on immune cells was observed in 71 of 159 evaluable tumor samples (45%) and was not significantly associated with the clinicopathologic features.
: The incidence of echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase (EML4-ALK) mutation among surgically treated patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung of the Eastern European ethnicity is underreported. The aim of this trial was the determination of EML4-ALK mutation frequency in investigated population, and the evaluation of correlations between lung adenocarcinoma subtype and clinical characteristics with mutation status. : This was a prospective trial which included 195 patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung who underwent surgical treatment.

The study involved 56 NSCLC patients and 53 unrelated healthy volunteers, and genotyping was performed on DNA samples obtained from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded lung tumor tissue and blood, respectively. This was the first time to show genotype frequencies of those single nucleotide polymorphisms for this study group from the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
