Introduction: Since COVID-19 first surfaced in 2019, it has seriously threatened public health. The most prevalent symptoms are respiratory ones. This study aimed to present the correlation between the severity of the clinical presentation of the disease and the results of respiratory function tests conducted within 6 months after hospital discharge.

Although the acute form can have spontaneous regression, a certain number of patients can have a chronic form, which leads to an increase in mortality and a decrease in the quality of life. Considering that the risk factors are still unknown, we wanted to compare the characteristics of patients with acute and chronic forms of sarcoidosis in Serbia in order to determine significant differences between them with hopes of contributing to everyday clinical practice.

No preventive treatments and no effective treatment for chronic OIPN exist despite many attempts. One of several suggested mechanisms includes neuroinflammation as a contributing factor to OIPN.

The aim was to determine typical values of diagnostic reference level (DRL) quantities for the computed tomography (CT) part of the most common positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) procedures in Slovenia. The most common PET-CT procedures were identified, and data collated for 565 patients imaged in all three PET-CT units in Slovenia during a time span of 11 months. As the number of facilities is too low to establish national DRLs, we followed ICRP recommendations and determined typical values of DRL quantities as the median values of the pooled set of data.

Background: Literature on the quality of life trends across time in children with atopic dermatitis are scarce.
Aims: To assess factors associated with quality of life of children with atopic dermatitis after a one-year follow-up and to examine the factors contributing to greater improvement in the atopic dermatitis-related quality of life over one year.
Methods: Our cohort consisted of 98 children who were treated for atopic dermatitis at the clinic of dermatovenereology.
Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) include several anterior mediastinal malignant tumours: thymomas, thymic carcinomas and thymic neuroendocrine cancers. There is significant variety in the biologic features and clinical course of TETs and many attempts have been made to identify target genes for successful therapy of TETs. Next generation sequencing (NGS) represents a huge advancement in diagnostics and these new molecular technologies revealed that thymic neoplasms have the lowest tumor mutation burden among all adult malignant tumours with a different pattern of molecular aberrations in thymomas and thymic carcinomas.

Material And Methods: Genomic DNA was isolated from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumour tissue.
Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common cancer in children, whereas it is less common in adults. Identification of cytogenetic aberrations and a small number of molecular abnormalities are still the most important risk and therapy stratification methods in clinical practice today. Next generation sequencing (NGS) technology provides a large amount of data contributing to elucidation of mutational landscape of childhood (cALL) and adult ALL (aALL).

Treatment of children diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (AD) is an art. Age-dependent barrier function, skin physiology, body surface:weight ratio, the compliance of patient and caregivers, and legal considerations related to the license status of topical and systemic drugs must be considered. Mild to moderate AD can usually be treated sufficiently with a personalized regimen of emollients and topical anti-inflammatory therapy consisting of topical corticosteroids (TCSs) or topical calcineurin inhibitors.

Background: Previous studies suggest that alopecia areata (AA) may significantly affect patient quality of life (QoL). There are no studies that assess QoL in Serbian AA patients.
Objectives: This study aims to assess the impact of AA on patients' QoL in comparison to patients affected by other skin diseases and to determine the impact of sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of AA patients on QoL.
Background/aim: Acne is well recognized condition that adversely affects quality of life (QoL) of the patients. The aim of this study was to determine the self-reported prevalence of acne and its main characteristics in high school pupils, and to assess their QoL.
Methods: The cross-sectional study conducted in May 2011 comprised 440 pupils from Serbia (281 from Belgrade and 159 from Uzice).
Background/aim: Acne is a common problem in adolescent children with considerable emotional and psychological effects. The aim of this study was to determine the self-reported prevalence of acne and to assess its impact on the quality of life in high school pupils in Serbia.
Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2011 in two medical high schools in Serbia.
We sought to determine the proportion of our admitted patients in terminal phase of ilness who recieved some kind of active oncological therapy. We conducted a pilot study on the records of patients who died in the University Hospital. We assessed the percentage of mortality, a therapeutic approach in terms of treating the underlying disease, and access to palliative treatment.

This paper investigates the presence of L.

We took 122 samples between May and December 2009. Water temperature and free residual chlorine were measured in situ.

The rate of the ion exchange process for lead ions is faster than for zinc ions, as well as the time needed to reach the equilibrium. The ion exchange capacity of zeolite of lead ions is doubly higher than that of zinc ions.

Batch experiments at constant temperature and hydrodynamic conditions have been performed. A decrease in the initial zinc concentration in aqueous solutions prolongs the time needed for equilibrium.

The Croatian zeolite clinoptilolite from the Donje Jesenje deposit has been used as a natural ion exchanger. The efficiency of removal is higher for Pb and Cu than for Zn ions.

The possibility of removing Zn2+ cations from wastewater by ion exchange using natural zeolites as exchangers has been investigated. The process of binding of zinc ions into zeolite structure has been established by several reaction mechanisms as a fast chemical reaction of ion exchange, accompanied by slower adsorption of different ionic species and possible precipitation or coprecipitation with the zeolite structure. The physicochemical phenomena such as hydrolysis and dissolution of surface layers are the result of interaction of zeolite with hydrogen or hydroxyl ions from the solution.
