Objective: To examine the association between molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH) and the prevalence of thinness among Mexican schoolchildren in communities with different fluoride levels in the drinking water.

Methods: A cross-sectional study on Mexican children ( = 488) selected from two communities presenting different concentrations of fluoride in the drinking water (1.0-1.

No-reference image quality assessment (IQA) is a critical step in medical image analysis, with the objective of predicting perceptual image quality without the need for a pristine reference image. The application of no-reference IQA to CT scans is valuable in providing an automated and objective approach to assessing scan quality, optimizing radiation dose, and improving overall healthcare efficiency. In this paper, we introduce DistilIQA, a novel distilled Vision Transformer network designed for no-reference CT image quality assessment.

Notwithstanding the wide adoption of the OECD principles (or best practices) for QSAR modeling, disparities between in silico predictions and experimental results are frequent, suggesting that model predictions are often too optimistic. Of these OECD principles, the applicability domain (AD) estimation has been recognized in several reports in the literature to be one of the most challenging, implying that the actual reliability measures of model predictions are often unreliable. Applying tree-based error analysis workflows on 5 QSAR models reported in the literature and available in the QsarDB repository, i.

A hybrid control framework is proposed as an alternative for long time delays in chemical processes. The hybrid approach mixes the numerical methods in an internal mode control (IMC) structure, which uses the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to improve the adjustment of the controller parameters. Simulation tests are carried out on linear systems of high order and inverse response, both with dominant delay, and tests on a nonlinear process (chemical reactor).

Introduction: The aim of the current study was to investigate associations between dental fluorosis in children living in low socioeconomic areas in Mexico, and fluoride concentrations in tap water, fluoride concentrations and in bottled water, and body mass index (BMI).

Methods: A cross-sectional study involving 585 schoolchildren aged 8-12 years was conducted in communities in a southern state of Mexico with >0.7 parts per million (ppm) fluoride in the groundwater.

Purpose: To explore the relationship between of self-reported health (SRH) and educational attainment with pastyear dental visits in older adults in México.

Materials And Methods: For this cross-sectional study, data were derived from the Mexican Health and Aging Study 2018 (MHAS-2018), which used a nationally-representative sample of older adults (50 years or older) in Mexico (n = 14,085). Variables taken from the MHAS questionnaire included residence (rural/urban), years of education, SRH, multimorbidity, pain severity, and past-year dental visits.

Objective: To assess the impact of caries, Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH), and fluorosis on the Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) of schoolchildren aged 8-10 years living in area with different fluoride levels in the drinking water.

Subject And Methods: The prevalence of caries and fluorosis were assessed among 663 Mexican schoolchildren using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS II) and the Thylstrup and Fejerskov Index (TFI), respectively. MIH was recorded using the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (EAPD) criteria and OHRQoL using the Child Perceptions Questionnaire (CPQ8-10).

Catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS) is an uncommon and the most severe form of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). A 33-week pregnant patient with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, past SARS-CoV-2 infection and type I fetal growth restriction with shortening of the fetal long bone was diagnosed in our center with a probable CAPS. Cesarean section was performed four days after the diagnosis due to the torpid evolution of the patient.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between sociodemographic factors and noncavitated and cavitated caries lesions in Mexican schoolchildren. This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2020 on 8-to-12-year-old schoolchildren of different socioeconomic status (SES). The caries was evaluated using ICDAS II, SES was evaluated using three categories---a high, middle, or low-income level---of the CONAPO.

Background: To determine whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19 disease) exposure in pregnancy, compared to non-exposure, is associated with infection-related obstetric morbidity.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre prospective study in pregnancy based on a universal antenatal screening program for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Throughout Spain 45 hospitals tested all women at admission on delivery ward using polymerase-chain-reaction (PCR) for COVID-19 since late March 2020.

Around two percent of asymptomatic women in labor test positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Spain. Families and care providers face childbirth with uncertainty. We determined if SARS-CoV-2 infection at delivery among asymptomatic mothers had different obstetric outcomes compared to negative patients.

Objective: Examine the association between marginalization and fluorosis with caries experience in Mexican rural children aged 8-12, in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Methods: Cross-sectional study of 283 rural schoolchildren selected from two locations with high and medium levels of marginalization where the water fluoride concentration ranged from 2.0 to 2.

Introduction: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the leading cause of congenital infection worldwide. Data about the management of CMV infection in pregnant women are scarce, and treatment options are very limited. The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of cytomegalovirus hyperimmune globulin (CMV-HIG) for the prevention and treatment of congenital CMV (cCMV) infection.

Objective: The purpose of the study was to identify dental fluorosis prevalence and to analyze its association with tap water fluoride concentration and beverage consumption in school children from the city of Oaxaca, who were receiving fluoridated salt.

Study Design: A cross-sectional study was performed on elementary public school children. Dean's Index was applied to assess dental fluorosis.

The Literary Meetings are a group of manuscripts which minuted regular meetings of the surgeons of the Royal College of Surgery (Real Colegio de Cirugía) of Barcelona during the "age of enlightment". Around 200 documents- or "minutes" (to which they had to add their respective criticisms or notes) are preserved. The earliest dates from 1765 and the last one is from 1835.
