Seroprevalence of Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies in Blood Donors from Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, during 2020: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Evaluation.

The progression and distribution of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic are continuously changing over time and can be traced by blood donors' serological survey. Here, we investigated the seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in blood donors in Nuevo Leon, Mexico during 2020 as a strategy for the rapid evaluation of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and asymptomatic case detection. We collected residual plasma samples from blood donors who attended two regional donation centers from January to December of 2020 to identify changes in anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG prevalence.

A New Surgical Approach to Body Contouring.

Background: The success of body contouring surgery will largely depend on the correct choice and performance of the technique, and utilization of the necessary scientific measures. Thus, this study sought to highlight the combination and evolution of the abdominoplasty-assisted liposuction technique, while individualizing each case for the patient's benefit.

Method: We present a series of 188 cases from the past 3 years (2017-2019), using our modification to the surgical technique: performing 360-degree liposuction first, and then abdominoplasty in the same surgical time.

Late-appearing Philadelphia chromosome in two patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia.

We describe two patients with typical myelogenous leukemia, who at the beginning of the disease lacked the Philadelphia chromosome in bone marrow cells, and 90 and 42 days later, respectively, its presence was shown in all cells analyzed from that tissue. These findings are compatible with the possibility that at least occasionally Ph1 occurs secondarily in already leukemic cells. The rapid change form Ph1- to Ph1+ CML in one of the patients (42 days), suggests the possibility that in addition to Ph1+ cells enjoying marked selective advantage, this change is induced simultaneously in multiple bone marrow cells.
