Background: Text messages are useful for health promotion and can be modified during public health emergencies.

Purpose: Describe how we developed and implemented a physical activity (PA) text messaging component within a faith-based intervention, modified the text message content in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and evaluated participants' perceptions of the modified text messages.

Rare CD4 T cells that contain HIV under antiretroviral therapy represent an important barrier to HIV cure, but the infeasibility of isolating and characterizing these cells in their natural state has led to uncertainty about whether they possess distinctive attributes that HIV cure-directed therapies might exploit. Here we address this challenge using a microfluidic technology that isolates the transcriptomes of HIV-infected cells based solely on the detection of HIV DNA. HIV-DNA memory CD4 T cells in the blood from people receiving antiretroviral therapy showed inhibition of six transcriptomic pathways, including death receptor signalling, necroptosis signalling and antiproliferative Gα12/13 signalling.

In this work, the Generalized Hubbard Model on a square lattice is applied to evaluate the electrical current density of high critical temperature -wave superconductors with a set of Hamiltonian parameters allowing them to reach critical temperatures close to 100 K. The appropriate set of Hamiltonian parameters permits us to apply our model to real materials, finding a good quantitative fit with important macroscopic superconducting properties such as the critical superconducting temperature (Tc) and the critical current density (Jc). We propose that much as in a dispersive medium, in which the velocity of electrons can be estimated by the gradient of the dispersion relation ∇ε(k), the electron velocity is proportional to ∇E(k) in the superconducting state (where E(k)=(ε(k)-μ)2+Δ2(k) is the dispersion relation of the quasiparticles, and is the electron wave vector).

Fusion of the infected cell membranes is a characteristic effect of a wide number of viral infections. Spring viremia of carp virus (SVCV), a rhabdovirus causing disease in farmed carp, can induce membrane fusion of the infected cells by shifting the pH of the culture medium to slightly acidic. Membrane fusion leads to the formation of clusters of cell nuclei enclosed in a cell membrane, the so-called syncytia, that can be easily visualized by cell staining and light microscope inspection.

Amphibians have a great diversity of bioactive peptides in their skin.
