The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of the intraoral appliance (IOA) as a treatment for OSA when it comes to the modulation of inflammatory markers and oxidative damage in elderly individuals. This "before and after" clinical trial included 9 patients diagnosed with OSA recruited from a multicenter randomized clinical trial study that evaluated the treatment with IOA for 60 days.

To treat these conditions, posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy (PMSO) is a surgical option. This study reports a case of a patient who developed dentoalveolar block extrusion after postponing implant-supported prosthetic rehabilitation for 5 years.

Background: Nurse managers play a vital role in healthcare services organization, requiring a diverse set of competencies. The increasing occurrence of epidemics in recent decades underscores the importance of understanding these competencies in pivotal junctures.
Background: Nursing students face unique challenges during their university education, making them vulnerable to mental health problems. Psychological resilience has been identified as a protective factor against these issues. However, previous reviews have identified gaps in the literature on resilience and mental health among nursing students.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the inflammatory, endothelial and brain injury markers in hospitalized COVID-19 patients and compare those with or without neurological symptoms. A total of 30 intensive care unit (ICU) COVID-19 patients were allocated into COVID-19 (without neurological symptoms) or neuro-COVID-19 (with neurological symptoms) groups.

Nowadays, poor IAQ is linked to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, allergic reactions, and cognitive impairments, particularly in settings like classrooms. Thus, this study investigates the impact of indoor environmental quality on student health in a university classroom over a year, using various sensors to measure 19 environmental parameters, including temperature, relative humidity, CO, CO, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter (PM), and other pollutants.

Method: Exploratory qualitative studyconducted between February and July 2020, with 64 nurses from six Brazilian municipalities bordering Paraguay. It was conducted in three stages: 1.
Seed water imbibition is critical to seedling establishment in tropical forests. The seeds of the neotropical tree Hymenaea courbaril have no oil reserves and have been used as a model to study storage cell wall polysaccharide (xyloglucan - XyG) mobilization. We studied pathways of water imbibition in Hymenaea seeds.

Thus, we measured perceptual acuity in runners using a classic psychophysical approach, the (JND) on two standard stimuli runs at treadmill speed corresponding to 70%VO and 80%VO. Thirty-four male runners ( age = 35.

This study presents guidelines for reproducible AIRR-seq data analysis, and a collection of ready-to-use pipelines with comprehensive documentation. To this end, ten common pipelines were implemented using ViaFoundry, a user-friendly interface for pipeline management and automation.

Method: qualitative research, anchored in Salutogenesis, carried out with 38 people with hypertension from a Brazilian prison unit, from February to July 2022, with a semi-structured interview with open-ended questions, whose analysis was thematic, explaining the limitations to health in prison.
Results: 13 Generalized Resistance Deficits were reported, mostly related to the prison environment and, to a lesser extent, to the social group and the individual, respectively.
Incorrect limb position while lifting heavy weights might compromise athlete success during weightlifting performance, similar to the way that it increases the risk of muscle injuries during resistance exercises, regardless of the individual's level of experience. However, practitioners might not have the necessary background knowledge for self-supervision of limb position and adjustment of the lifting position when improper movement occurs. Therefore, the computerized analysis of movement patterns might assist people in detecting changes in limb position during exercises with different loads or enhance the analysis of an observer with expertise in weightlifting exercises.

When sets only contain alleles supported by strong evidence, AIRR sequencing (AIRR-seq) data analysis is more accurate and studies of the evolution of IG genes, their allelic variants and the expressed immune repertoire is therefore facilitated.
Methods: The Adaptive Immune Receptor Repertoire Community (AIRR-C) IG Reference Sets have been developed by including only human IG heavy and light chain alleles that have been confirmed by evidence from multiple high-quality sources.

The congenital Zika syndrome (CZS) has been characterized as a set of several brain changes, such as reduced brain volume and subcortical calcifications, in addition to cognitive deficits. Microcephaly is one of the possible complications found in newborns exposed to Zika virus (ZIKV) during pregnancy, although it is an impacting clinical sign. This study aimed to investigate the consequences of a model of congenital ZIKV infection by evaluating the histopathology, blood-brain barrier, and neuroinflammation in pup rats 24 h after birth, and neurodevelopment of the offspring.

All oils fulfilled the legal thresholds of EVOOs and the PDO's specifications. Olive oils from 'Azeite da Beira Interior' and 'Azeite de Trás-os-Montes' showed greater total phenols contents and antioxidant capacities, while 'Azeites da Beira Interior' presented higher oxidative stabilities.

Obesity has been linked to cognitive decline and adverse effects on brain health. Zinc (Zn) is a mineral with important metabolic functions that can modulate obesity-related neurological impairment. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the effects of 12 weeks of Zn supplementation on the inflammatory profile, cognitive function, and mood of overweight or obese women through a double-blind, placebo-controlled study.

However, no study has investigated if tDCS could boost the effects of FDS and gait training in improving clinical parameters and neuroplasticity biomarkers of chronic post-stroke subjects.
Objective: To investigate the effects of combining tDCS and FDS on motor impairment, functional mobility, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) serum levels.
Objective: To analyze how the healthcare of black immigrants was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic in Primary Healthcare.
Method: An exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out through semi-structured interviews with professionals who worked in 10 Health Units in the city of Curitiba, Brazil, from October 2020 to January 2021. Structural racism was the conceptual framework.
Intensive agriculture maintains high crop yields through chemical inputs, which are well known for their adverse effects on environmental quality and human health. Innovative technologies are required to reduce the risk generated by the extensive and harmful use of pesticides. The plant biostimulants made from humic substances isolated from recyclable biomass offer an alternative approach to address the need for replacing conventional agrochemicals without compromising the crop yield.

This process is highly impacted by allele annotations. Aligning sequences, assigning them to specific germline alleles, and inferring individual genotypes are challenging when the repertoire is highly mutated, or sequence reads do not cover the whole V region.
