Polyphenolic compounds constitute a diverse group of natural components commonly occurring in various plant species, known for their potential to exert both beneficial and detrimental effects. Additionally, these polyphenols have also been implicated as endocrine-disrupting (ED) chemicals, raising concerns about their widespread use in the cosmetics industry. The aim of this work was to evaluate what are preferences, frequency and consumption of fruit in a sample of 134 children of a Lazio's Primary School, aged between 7 and 12. Our study has shown that a great children's percentage eats fruit daily, especially in the form of fresh fruit, and that their awareness of fruit's nutritive value is rather satisfactory, notwithstanding the sample's young age.

Methods: In this study we have analyzed normal thyroid tissue (3 patients), follicular adenoma (2 patients) and multinodular goiter (2 patients) conventionally processed for histology and stiined by immunocytochemistry (Avidin Biotin System) using a polyclonal (rabbit) antibody for horseradish peroxidase (Serotec). Biochemical assay was performed on adjacent samples according to Hosoya method.
Diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy is a safe procedure, which, however, is not without complications. The rare occurrence of subcutaneous emphysema, as a consequence of pneumoperitoneum, following laparoscopic cholecystectomy, is reported.
