Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) has shown potent and cancer-selective killing activity and drawn considerable attention as a promising therapy for cancer. Another promising cancer therapy is difluoromethylornithine (DFMO), an inhibitor of ornithine decarboxylase, which is oraly administered and well tolerated. Materials And Methods: Fifty periodontitis subjects presenting hypersensitivity were subjected to scaling and root planing and in-office application of either 8% arginine and calcium carbonate desensitizing paste (25 subjects, test group) or fluoride-free prophylaxis paste (25 subjects, control group). Primary small cell carcinoma of the prostate (SCPCa) is a rare pathologic entity with unique clinical features and a poor prognosis.
