Background: Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a common continuous inflammation dermatosis requiring efficacious therapeutic intervention. Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex-Cnidii Fructus (PC) herb pair has shown effectiveness and security in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinical applications, yet its pharmacological constituents and mechanisms are not fully elucidated.

Here, hybrid stimuli-responsive (exhibiting pyroelectricity and piezoelectricity) porous cryogels are engineered by embedding tourmaline nanoparticles (TNs) in a cellulose nanofiber (CNF) skeleton to generate high-performance CNF-TN-based airborne particulate matter (PM) filters. First, single-layer hybrid cryogels with varying TN contents (0-5% w v) are assembled, and the design principles for multilayered filters are established based on a novel sequential pre-freezing and freeze-drying technique. As observed, the embedded TNs transformed the CNF network into a more homogeneous, isotropic, and firm structure, thus improving the structural integrity and thermal stability of the assembled cryogels while maintaining their ultrahigh porosity and low density.

The homogeneity and stability of the structure of anodic TiO nanotube (ATNT) arrays have been a hot topic in materials synthesis research. In this work, the current density distribution during the anodization of ATNT arrays was optimized by adding polyethylene glycol-600 (PEG-600) to the conventional ethylene glycol-based electrolyte, which enhanced the dependence of the electronic current on the applied voltage, thus providing a stabilizing effect on anodization and improving the homogeneity of the pores on the surface of ATNT arrays. A new image processing approach, called the region-growing method, is reported in this work, which can quantitatively analyze the pore size of ATNT arrays through SEM images, and the surface morphology of ATNT arrays was evaluated based on this.

The process control of anodization has been a hot topic for a long time. In this study, the addition of phosphoric acid to the traditional electrolyte changed the ion distribution on the reaction interface and the composition of the anion contamination layer so as to achieve the slowing down effect on anodization, the mechanism and theoretical model of which are also given in this paper. The application and growth mechanism of anodic TiO nanotubes have been a hot topic in the last ten years, but the formation mechanism of anodic ZrO nanotubes has rarely been studied. In one-step constant voltage anodization of Al and Ti, the typical current-time curve has three stages. Moreover, the current-time curves of the three stages can last for 10 min or even 10 hours, resulting in a single layer of nanotubes with the same diameter due to the constant voltage in one-step anodization.
