Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes and complications of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) combined with sartorius muscle iliac bone graft transplantation (SIBFT) in the treatment of displaced femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and young adults.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 26 patients under the age of 60 with displaced femoral neck fractures (Pauwels III or Garden III-IV) treated at our institution between April 2019 to July 2022. All patients underwent open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) through the Smith-Petersen (S-P) approach, augmented with a sartorius muscle iliac bone graft transplantation.
Background: There are still some patients with acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion stroke (LVOS) experienced unsuccessful recanalization after endovascular thrombectomy. The efficacy of intravenous alteplase before thrombectomy for such patients is unknown. We performed this study to investigate whether prior intravenous alteplase could affect the outcome of patients with unsuccessful recanalization.

Methods: An online survey of stroke clinicians registered to OCIN (Oriental Conference of Interventional Neurovascology) platform and ENCHANTED2/MT trial (Enhanced Control of Hypertension and Thrombectomy Stroke Study) collaborators was conducted to investigate the blood pressure management strategy after mechanical thrombectomy. The survey was sent out in March 2024, extracted within 1 month, and then analyzed comprehensively using descriptive statistics.
Background And Purpose: Lateral sinus dural arteriovenous fistulas (LS-DAVFs) carry a higher rate of recurrence after endovascular treatment (EVT). Our objective was to investigate the independent predictors of recurrence and unfavorable functional outcome of low-and intermediate-grade LS-DAVFs after EVT.
Materials And Methods: Retrospectively reviewed our database of prospectively collected information for all patients with low and intermediate-grade LS-DAVFs that underwent EVT from May 2004 to December 2021.
Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite (CF/EP) laminates with porosity ranged from 0% to 2.5% were prepared under inadequate curing pressures, and then applied to ultrasonic, metallographic and mechanical testings. Porosity was evaluated using an ultrasonic attenuation model, which was established by taking consideration of surface losses, material attenuation coefficient and void attenuation coefficient.

This work proposes a rolling soft robot driven by local snap-through buckling, which employs the fast response and configuration maintenance of the bistable structure to enhance the locomotion performance of the soft robot. A theory based on bifurcation and the energy principle is established to analyze the rolling mechanism.

Methods: ALR Conditional Knockout (CKO) mice were bilateral renal artery clamped to induce AKI and CKD.
The high-temperature durability performance plays a crucial role in the applications of single-crystal (SX) superalloys repaired by laser-directed energy deposition (L-DED). A specialized heat treatment process for L-DED-repaired SX superalloys was developed in this study. The effect of the newly customized heat treatment on the microstructure and high-temperature mechanical properties of DD32 SX superalloy repaired by L-DED was investigated.

Purpose: The conversion of knee arthrodesis to total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a challenging procedure. This article aims to report a case of fusion knee with patellar absence who was converted to TKA and has achieved good results.
Methods: The patient, a 23 years old Tibetan Buddhist monk, sustained a left knee joint injury at the age of 12 due to a car accident, leading to subsequent knee arthrodesis at 18 years old as a result of recurrent severe infections.
Background: The effectiveness of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy in patients with acute ischaemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation remains uncertain. We aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy, compared with using a conventional guide catheter, in this patient population.
Methods: We conducted a multicentre, open-label, blinded-endpoint, randomised controlled trial at 28 hospitals in China.
Background: The effect of embolization of the middle meningeal artery in patients with subacute or chronic subdural hematoma is uncertain.
Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.
In a strongly coupled cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) system, the second-order correlation function g(τ) of the transmitted probe light from the cavity is determined by the nonlinearity of the atom in the cavity. Therefore, the system provides a platform for controlling the photon statistics by manipulating nonlinearity. In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate nonreciprocal quantum statistics in a cavity QED system with several atoms strongly coupled to an asymmetric optical cavity, which is composed of two mirrors with different transmittivities.

Method: SL-10, XT-17, and Q-track microcatheters were included in the study. MarSurf CM explorer (a non-contact 3D confocal microscopy system) and MATLAB software were used to detect the surface coating damage.
Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the mechanism of benzylurea in the inflammatory injury of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (hPDLFs).
Methods: An inflammation model of hPDLFs was established using LPS. Nuclear transport of nuclear transcription factor-κB (NF-κB), secretion of cytokines, and the morphology and distribution of F-actin were determined.
Snap-through bistability was widely exploited for rapid hopping in micro-electro-mechanical systems and soft robots. However, considerable energy input was required to trigger the transition between discrete buckling states blocked by potential wells. Here a dynamic buckling mechanism of a buckled blister constrained inside an outer ring is explored for eliciting rotary actuation via a localized change of curvature in the blister.

Interactive image segmentation extremely accelerates the generation of high-quality annotation image datasets, which are the pillars of the applications of deep learning. However, these methods suffer from the insignificance of interaction information and excessively high optimization costs, resulting in unexpected segmentation outcomes and increased computational burden. To address these issues, this paper focuses on interactive information mining from the network architecture and optimization procedure.

However, the intricate regulatory mechanisms governing the crosstalk between metabolic reprogramming and liver CSCs remain elusive. Here, using a metabolic CRISPR-Cas9 knockout screen, we identify ATP6V1D, a subunit of the vacuolar-type H-translocating ATPase (V-ATPase), as a key metabolic regulator of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) stemness.

However, they were difficult to form structural materials, which limited its application in engineering. In this paper, a new type of chitosan porous materials was prepared with two-step strategy involving the freezing crosslinking of chitosan with glutaraldehyde to form cryogels, and their subsequent reduction with NaBH to transform CN bonds into CN bonds, resulting in remarkable improvement of mechanical property.

This study explores the efficacy of Carbon Ion Radiotherapy (CIRT) as a novel therapeutic approach for keloids, focusing on its impact on fibroblast proliferation, apoptosis induction, immunogenic cell death (ICD), macrophage polarization, and the TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway. Utilizing a murine model of keloid formed by subcutaneous injection of zeocin in C57BL/6 mice, we demonstrated that CIRT effectively reduces collagenous fiber synthesis and collagen production in keloid tissues.
