Heterozygotic mutations are responsible for various congenital diseases in the heart, pancreas, liver, and other organs in humans. However, there is lack of an animal that can comprehensively model these diseases since GATA6 is essential for early embryogenesis. Here, we report the establishment of a knockout zebrafish which recapitulates most of the symptoms in patients with mutations, including cardiac outflow tract defects, pancreatic hypoplasia/agenesis, gallbladder agenesis, and various liver diseases.

To help clinicians treat infections more effectively, a more comprehensive understanding of antibiotic resistance mechanisms is urgently needed.
Methods: Plates were streaked to isolate bacteria from the intestinal contents of fish.
This study investigated the effect of different processing methods (boiling, oil boiling, and stir frying) on the flavor of hoki steak soups. The quality of different fillet broths was explored by pH, Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), and color. E-nose, E-tongue, and gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) combined with free amino acids (FAAs) were used to analyze the flavor of hoki steak soups.

However, the structural origin of preferential distribution for oxygen vacancies in RP structures is not well understood, notably in the single-layer ( = 1) RP-structure. Herein, the = 1 RP phase SrNdZnO was rationally designed and structurally characterized by combining three-dimensional (3D) electron diffraction and neutron powder diffraction.

The GC-IMS technique successfully detected 69 volatile compounds in the skin and 60 volatile compounds in the filling of the boiled dumplings. From the established fingerprints, it was found that there were significant differences in the flavour compounds of dumplings skins among the groups.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 144 patients with trimalleolar fractures treated at Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital. Among these, 78 patients underwent the fixation sequence of lateral malleolus-posterior malleolus-medial malleolus (Group A), while 66 patients underwent the sequence of posterior malleolus-lateral malleolus-medial malleolus (Group B).
The alteration in the taste of tomatoes after storage significantly influences consumer demand. Identification of the key compounds and related metabolic pathways involved in the taste changes of tomatoes during storage is very important for the tomato industry. This study examined the alterations in the taste of tomatoes stored at 4 °C under vacuum packaging, focusing on changes in metabolites and identifying specific metabolites that serve as markers for different taste attributes.

A total of 62 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were identified by GC-IMS. 27 characteristic aroma compounds were identified by GC-O-QTOF, and the highest content was trimethylamine.

Modern lifestyle changes, especially the consumption of a diet high in salt, sugar, and fat, have contributed to the increasing incidence and prevalence of chronic metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and gout. Changing lifestyles continuously shape the gut microbiota which is closely related to the occurrence and development of metabolic diseases due to its specificity of composition and structural diversity. A large number of pathogenic bacteria such as , , , and pathogenic in the gut utilize the type III secretion system (T3SS) to help them resist host defenses and cause disease.

Herein, we report the structure and electrical properties of the perovskite BaTiWO. Three-dimensional (3D) electron diffraction (ED), neutron powder diffraction (NPD), and neutron pair distribution functions (nPDF) revealed a 9R hexagonal perovskite structure for BaTiWO with fully occupied central M2 sites, partially occupied outer M1 sites, and oxygen-deficient cubic c-BaO sublayers.

As the temperature and time increased, the expansion ratio of pork tendons exhibited a gradual increase. The microstructure of the puffed pork tendons exhibited a uniform porous structure at 230 °C and 250 °C for 6 min.

Micro-stereolithography (μSL) is an advanced additive manufacturing technique that enables the fabrication of highly precise microstructures with fine feature resolution. One of the primary challenges in μSL is achieving and maintaining precise focus throughout the fabrication process. For the successful application of μSL, it is essential to maintain the sample surface within a focal depth of several microns.

A total of 3145 fat metabolites were detected in male and female giant salamander tails, with the largest contributors being triglycerides (TGs, 840) and phosphatidylcholines (PCs, 383). Notably, the contents of PCs and TGs were greater in female tails than in male tails, and the levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were also greater in the female group.

To address these challenges, magnetic composite nanospheres (CMNP@CHPEI) are systematically developed, with carboxylated FeO nanoparticles (CMNP) as the core and amphiphilic hyperbranched polyethyleneimine (CHPEI) as the decorated shell. These novel nanospheres combine the controllable size and magnetic responsiveness of "hard" magnetic nanomaterials with the structural complexity and functional diversity of "soft" hyperbranched polymers.
