Introduction: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal disease, which has no thoroughly effective or safe treatment. Elevated oxidative stress is a common consequence of chronic inflammatory conditions.
Methods: We employed Summary-data based MR (SMR) analysis to assess the associations between gene molecular characteristics and GERD.
Molecular glue degraders (MGDs) are proximity-inducing agents that mediate the cooperative interaction between a target protein and an E3 ligase, introducing an additional layer of specificity beyond that afforded by traditional small molecules. Historically, molecular glues that stabilize protein-protein interactions were often discovered serendipitously. In this study, we leveraged the reprogramming potential of cereblon (CRBN)-based ligands and conducted a CRBN-dependent proliferation screen to identify CRBN-based MGDs capable of inducing the degradation of proteins essential for cell viability.

This study was to develop a non-invasive predictive model for preoperative assessing lymph node metastasis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using radiomic features from chest CT images.
Materials & Methods: In this retrospective study, 247 patients with resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were enrolled.
High-resolution characterization of magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) derived from coal combustion activities is crucial to better understand their health-related risks. In this study, size distribution and elemental composition of individual MNPs from various coal fly ashes (CFAs) collected from a representative coal-fired power plant were analyzed using a single-particle inductively coupled plasma time-of-flight mass spectrometry technique. Majority (61-80%) of MNPs were identified as multimetal (mm)-MNPs, while the contribution of single metal (sm)-MNPs to the total increased throughout all the CFAs, reaching the highest in fly ash escaped through the stack (EFA).

High-voltage P2-NaNiMnO layered oxide cathode exhibits significant potential for sodium-ion batteries, owing to the elevated operating voltage and theoretical energy density beyond lithium iron phosphate, but the large-volume phase transition is the devil. Currently, this type cathode still suffers from stability-capacity trade-off dilemma. Herein, a concept of customized strategy via multiple rock-forming elements trace doping is presented to address the mentioned issue.

Methods: In this study, we report the outcomes of 86 patients with grade III-IV (82.
Accurate and early diagnosis of monkeypox virus (MPXV) is crucial for controlling epidemics and treating affected individuals promptly. This study aimed to assess the analytical and clinical performance of the Molecision Monkeypox Virus qPCR Assay, Biorain Monkeypox Virus ddPCR Assay, and MAGLUMI Monkeypox Virus Ag (chemiluminescence immunoassay, CLIA) Assay. Additionally, it aimed to compare the clinical application of antigen and nucleic acid assays to offer insights into using commercial monkeypox assay kits.

This study aimed to optimize a prediction model for estimating COVID-19 infection rates based on SARS-CoV-2 RNA concentrations in wastewater, and reveal the infection trends and variant diversification in Shenzhen, China following the lifting of a strict COVID-19 strategy. Faecal samples (n = 4337) from 1204 SARS-CoV-2 infected individuals hospitalized in a designated hospital were analysed to obtain Omicron variant-specific faecal shedding dynamics.

The extent to which PPP4C affects immune cell infiltration in LUAD, as well as the importance of associated genes in clinical scenarios, still requires thorough investigation.
Methods: In our investigation, we leveraged both single-cell and comprehensive RNA sequencing data, sourced from LUAD patients, in our analysis.
Background: Due to the high heterogeneity of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), which restricts the effectiveness of therapy, precise molecular subgrouping of LUAD is of great significance. Clinical research has demonstrated the significant potential of DNA methylation as a classification indicator for human malignancies.
Methods: WGML framework (which was developed based on weighted gene correlation network analysis (WGCNA), Gene Ontology (GO), and machine learning) was developed to precisely subgroup molecular subtypes of LUAD.
Objectives: To assess the effects of timing of maternal severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and vaccination status on placental transfer of antibodies to neonates.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, chemiluminescence was employed to measure SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody titers in paired maternal-infant samples from women infected during pregnancy who were vaccinated or unvaccinated. Generalized linear regression assessed factors affecting antibody transfer in infected pregnant women and neonatal titers.
Diets rich in taurine can increase the production of taurine-conjugated bile acids, which are known to exert antihypertensive effects. Despite their benefits to the heart, kidney and arteries, their role in the central nervous system during the antihypertensive process remains unclear. Since hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) plays a key role in blood pressure regulation, we aimed to investigate the function of bile acids in the PVN.

However, the intricate entanglement between the two aspects results in a lack of interpretable design for active sites, posing a challenge in developing high-performance catalysts. Here, we find that surface reconstruction induced by phase transition in intermetallic alloys enables synergistic geometric and electronic structure modulation, creating a desired active site microenvironment for propane dehydrogenation.

It further aimed to provide valuable insights for subsequent clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Methods: This research employs an observational retrospective case-control study design, encompassing patients with ABP who underwent ERCP at the hepatobiliary surgery department of the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University between August 1, 2018, and December 31, 2020.
Objective: Colorectal cancer remains a significant challenge with high mortality rates. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of targeting the microRNA-148a/WNT10b axis with the long non-coding RNA LINC00261 on the proliferation and apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells.
Methods: In vitro, small interfering RNA-LINC00261 and microRNA-148 inhibitor sequences were synthesized and transfected into SW480 cells.
Nucleic acid detection is an important tool for clinical diagnosis. The purification of the sample is the most time-consuming step in the nucleic acid testing process and will affect the results of the assay. Here, we developed a surface modification-based nucleic acid purification method and designed an accompanying set of centrifugation equipment and chips to integrate the steps of nucleic acid purification on a single platform.

Advanced aging evokes unfavorable changes in the heart including cardiac remodeling and contractile dysfunction although the underlying mechanism remains elusive. This study was conducted to evaluate the role of endothelin-1 (ET-1) in the pathogenesis of cardiac aging and mechanism involved. Echocardiographic and cardiomyocyte mechanical properties were determined in young (5-6 mo) and aged (26-28 mo) wild-type (WT) and cardiomyocyte-specific ET receptor knockout (ETKO) mice.
